STREET AND TUNNEL

LIGHTING CONTROL
The basic need to setup a software system like ours is
to minimize the increasing costs incurred in the current
street lighting system.
ILLUMINOX Street and Tunnel Light Control (SLTC) is an
innovative light management system for outdoor
lighting as well as tunnels. It provides demand-oriented
control and monitoring for both individual luminaires
and up to thousands of light points. SLTC thus
facilitates a reduction in energy consumption, CO2-
emission and light pollution.
The central element is the SLTC software, which allows
you to keep the entire street lighting and tunnel
lighting under control. For optimized maintenance
planning for your lighting and thus improving safety on
the roads.
SOFTWARE AND WORKING

There is no particular software to handle the Prism

Lighting System but works on the principle of physics
mainly wave optics. There is dispersion of light which is
supplied from light sources. There is reflection and
refraction of light at 45 degree angle which occurs in
each prism which in turn lights up the entire tunnel.

The Artificial Intelligence Sensors Lighting assisted by

Renux automatically dials down the brightness when
no one is around and restores radiance upon detecting
the presence of oncoming activity.
The product uses self-learning algorithms to learn
about real-time events occurring on streets and
responds to them by enabling individual streetlights to
adjust according to changes in crime patterns, traffic,
people movement, and weather. For example, it would
increase streetlight luminosity when it learns of
increase in pedestrian activity and decreases it in times
of less people activity.

The street lights are part-powered by kinetic energy

generated by footsteps, which is absorbed by tiles
installed in the pavement and then channeled to the
lights which is monitored by Renux.
The side-walk tiles were developed and they have been
installed.
Each footstep can create four to eight watts,
depending on the pressure of the step, which is then
channeled to the lighting. Each pedestrian generates
an average of five watts per footstep at 12-48 volts DC,
which is enough to run an LED street lamp for thirty
seconds.
The Renux software enables battery-status checks, and
light-dimming functions, as well as fault notifications
and the delivery of other information reports. Smart
sensors installed on the poles can also collect
temperature, air quality and humidity data, and all
data can be seen online and in real time.
EFFICIENCY AND COST

 Since automatic street light systems feature no

moving parts, they require less maintenance than
conventional street lights.
 There are lower chances of the automatic street
light system overheating & risk of accidents is also
minimized.
 Cost of operating automatic street lights is far less
when compared to the conventional street lights.
 The automatic street light system is eco-friendly &
hence helps in reducing the carbon footprint.
 The methods of lighting used by us is environment
friendly in reducing the heat emission and the
emission of carbon dioxide. This is also safe for
pedestrians and stray animals as the AI sensors
capture even the lightest of movements on the
road.
 The approximate cost incurred for each pole of
street light is Rs.3500 for 40 ft and Rs. 4200 for
50ft poles. In a singular road there are
approximately 10 such poles which makes the cost
around Rs.35000-42000. In India there are millions
of roads, so roughly it would cost around 290
crores for the entire street lighting including the
electricity consumption rates for various voltages
of light. Whereas in our methods the main cost
incurred would be mainly in the installation of the
AI sensors but the prism lights and Walk for Light
system would subsequently reduce the overall
cost incurred.
