Hi Kate,
Don’t worry about the project.I think I can help by
sharing with you one of the most intriguing experience that
I’ve ever had.
As you know, last summer I was on a school trip at
Campina. We visited a couple of places, but no doubt that the
most astonishing was the Castle Iulia Hasdeu.I found out
really interesting things about both Iulia and her father, but
the icing on the cake is yet to come…
So,during the visit,it was clear that something strange
was happening.Me and my classmates acknowledged that
there was some sort of wind inside, moving the paintings
from the walls, depite the fact that all the windows were
closed. Also,we could periodically hear the piano being
played, although nobody was playing it...The guide seemed to
be familiar to these things,so I tried not to give them too
much attention either(although it was pretty hard).
Anyway,at the end of the tour,I decided to remain a bit
behind in order to make a few more photos and to buy some
souvenirs. And I also wanted to ask the guide about those
mysterious phenomenas…When he heard my question, he
smiled and told me to follow him.I was a bit scared, but, after
all,what could have happened?
So,I folowed him upstairs where he opened a door on
which it was written “Forbidden for visitors”.It was very
dark, but fortunately he lighted a candle and I could see…
HER!An eighteen-year-old girl, sitting at a round table, was
staring at me,keeping a daisy in his hand and smiling.’Iulia!’,I
cried.I turned around, but the guide was no more behind
me.Then, when I looked back to the table,Iulia had also
disappeared, but the daisy remained on the table.I got closer
and saw that near the flower there was a small piece of
paper on which it was written:’Is my presence enough?’.
I remained a
few seconds completely amazed by what had just
happened. Then,I took the paper and the daisy and went
down the stairs to the entry of the castle, where the guide
was waiting for me smiling.I didn’t know what to say after all
that happened,so I just smiled back,I thanked him for
everything and I promised that I would come back next year.
Anyway,I know,my dear, that this story could seem
exaggerated and unbelievable,but trust me:I wouldn’t dare
to tell you about it if it was a lie.As a fact,I still keep that daisy
and that piece of paper under a glass globe and, believe it or
not, they look almost the same as in that day.And if you
want,I could even lend them to you.I wish you all the best
and hope that your project will be very successful!
See you soon,
Radu
