Connecting SAP GUI program (Windows version) to SAP Application Server in

MLC

Note 1 - Check with your MLC Basis Administrator on what connection values are for you.
The CRITICAL connection parameter values are
1. application server
2. instance number
3. system ID

Note 2 - You need to create 2 sets/lines of connection information in the login page. One set/line
for invoking remote connection (i.e. at home) and the other for invoking local connection (i.e.
inside MLC Mississauga office). As an example, see the following 2 sets/lines.

7
Note 3 - Enter text of your preference in the Description field to reflect that this connection is
remote (i.e. outside MLC premise) or local (within MLC premise) and which SAP system you
want to use. As an example, see the Name column in the above screenshot.

Go to your desktop.

Double click the SAP Logon program icon.

(Note - my SAP GUI is of version 7.30 and hence my title bar says SAP Logon 730.)

Remote connection:-

Create the icon "new" for configuring the connection parameter values for accessing the
system outside MLC premise.

Local connection:-

Create the icon "new" a second time configuring the connection parameter values for
accessing the system inside MLC premise

Enter the connection parameter values as given by the administrator/instructor in a separate

email.

When FINISH, you will see 2 rows of connection (as an example) values as shown below.
