Question #1 Is the government anti-drug campaign successful?

By the time that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was elected, the anti-drug campaign of the
government was already successful because at the very beginning the administration under
President Duterte intensifies the eradication of illegal drugs in our country. The campaign that
aims to suppress the supply, production and distribution of illegal drugs may get criticized by
some institution and personalities, still the administration receives a high approval rate which
proves that the campaign is successful. The sustained efforts of national government agencies
such as Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operation had a
great impact with the anti-illegal drug campaign. PNP Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign plan conducts
anti-illegal drug operation which includes buy-bust, manhunts to high value target and high
profile individual, and recidivist Pusher that distributes illegal drugs to street level. Drug
demand is also reduced because of the programs conducted by the PNP uniformed personnel
that reaches out to the general public, youth and schools to educate the harmful effects of
drugs.

Question #2: Explain the “Golden Triangle Drug Syndicate”.

The Golden Triangle is composed of Myanmar, Thailand and Laos. These countries are known to
be large manufacturers of illegal drugs, they are held accountable for smuggling and trafficking
of large scale illicit drugs which is highly addictive substances such as Heroin and
Methamphetamine. The border regions of these countries are said to be ideal for active drug
trade because of its limited security forces and the border controls are carried out by the
groups that gets financing through drug trafficking. These countries became the main route for
drug trade to majority of Southeast Asia.
