assemble conceptualizations about people based

4. Gender Equality – means that girls and boys,
women and men,have equal conditions for
realizing their full human rights and for
contributing to and benefiting from development
•According to the recent World Economic
Forum, the Philippines ranked 9th out of 142
countries in terms of gender equality. The WEF
of indicators which measures the following:

› Economic Participation and Opportunities
› Political Empowerment

9710 ; comprehensive women's right law that
seeks to eliminate discrimination against women
by recognizing, protecting, fulfilling and
promoting the rights of Filipino women,
especially those in marginalized sector.

Lesson 13: The RH Law
1. Reproductive Health Law - Republict Act No.
10354 ; a law that provides universal access to
methods on sexual educ,contraceptio,fertility
control,and maternal care.
2. Responsible Health Care - refers to the state
of complete physical,mental, and social well
being.
3.Reproductive Rights - rights of individual and
couples to decide freely and responsibly
›MAIN POINTS OF RH LAW:
a.) Improvement of women's overall health - The
law seeks to lower risk of complication.
b.) Family readiness and awareness - couples
who are planning to get married will undergo
family planning seminars
c.) School-based reproductive education -
schoolchildren would be given lessons on family
planning starting from gr 5 - gr 12
d.) Breastfeeding would also be further
promoted
e.) Contraceptives would be considered
essential.

Lesson 14: Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Lesson 15: Youth who are LGBT
1.Lesbian - a female who is sexually and/or
romantically attracted to another female
2.Gay - a male who is sexually and/or
romantically attracted to another male
3. Bisexual - a male/female who is sexually
and/or romantically attracted to both males and
females
4. Transsexual - a person who feels that his or
her body should that be of the other sex despite
having clear anatomical features of one sex.

Myth#1: People choose to be LGBT
Myth#2: Homosexuality is a mental illness
Myth#3: Homox=sexuality is not "naturak",
therefore it is dysfunctional.
Myth#4: Lesbian and gay people are attracted to
every person of their own sex
Myth#5: People who are LGBT can usually be
identified by certain mannerisms or physical
characteristics
Myth #6: Gays and lesbians have more sexual
partners than heterosexuals
Myth #7: Most child molesters are homosexuals.
Myth #8: People become homosexual because
they were sexually abused as children or there
was a deficiency in sex-role modeling by their
parents.
Myth #9: People who are LGBT should not be
teachers because they will try to convert their
students to their lifestyle.
Myth #10: To be bisexual implies that a person
has multiple partners at the same time.
