CONSTRUTION METHODE

FOR
STONE PLACING

A. GENERAL

The stone placing activity have step as follow:

1. Marking for stage out,
2. Excavation for Toe Protection foundation,
3. Stone placing :
a. Core Rock,
b. Under layer,
c. Armor Rock.

B. CONSTRUCTIONS METHOD

1. Marking for stage out.

Based on “approval shop drawing”, marking will be installed on site at

point 1 ~ 8 (Figure 1: Marking stage out point).

Figure 1 : Marking Stage Out Point.

Figure 1: Marking Point for Stage Out

2. Excavation

Excavation for foundation (Toe Protection) execute with conform to

the widths and depths with step by step method every 10 meters
space.
If widths and depths design reached, joint inspection have to
conducted to make sure the profile reach the requirement, and have
to approved by engineer.

3. Stone Placing.

A. Toe Protection Foundation.

1. Core Rock material.
After the profile reach the requirement and have approved by
engineer, core rock material can be placed.
Core rock placing shall placed in layer every 0.2 meter with space
every 10 meters also.

For Elevation above +1.30 m (MSL) must be compacting with max. 1
tons fibro roller until 5 passed per layer.

B. Groins Structure.
1. Core Rock material.
Core rock placing activity can do through after the Toe Protection
foundation have completed. Stone shall placed still in a layer
every 0.2 meter with every 10 meters space by excavator.
Especially for layer above MSL will be compacted by vibro roller.

2. Under Layer.
With the same method step, under layer material can placed
through after the Core rock layer have completed. Stone shall
placed still in a layer with at least 2 (two) rocks thickness.

3. Armor Rock.
The next step, after the temporary leveling of the under layer
material is completed and have approved by Engineer, armor rock
will be placed.
Placing of armor rock will be carried out by an excavator, with
individually placed so that it’s neighbors securely hold each rock.

D. SAFETY CONTROL
During executions of stone placing, safety barricades will be installed
around the area to prevent entry by tourist or others.
Safety sign boards will be displaced.

The procedure of safety control following as follow as:

1. Presentation meeting will be conducted around that area,
2. Basically follow our General Safety Manual,
3. Safety barricade will be placed around working area,

F. SPECIAL NOTES FOR TOURIST MANAGEMENT

(Refer to submitted Safety Sign Board and Tourist Information Board).

Prior and during execution of work, we will arrange activities to the

tourist and local people as follow :

a) Prior the commencement of work.

 Explanation to hotel/restaurant owner’s and local people.
Already conducted on March 26th 2002 (socialization meeting).

 Information Board.
Information board’s will be installed on site as conform engineer
approval.
(see attachment : 2)

 Information leaflet.
Already submitted to hotel/restaurant owner’s and local people
on March 26th 2002 (when socialization meeting).
(see attachment :3).

 Before the commencement of each section, we will always
arrange the activities as follow:
- Re-information to hotel/ restaurant owner’s and local
people,
- Fence and buoy marking, to avoid tourist or other crossing,
- Warning board (see attachment : 4).

b) During execution of work.

 Ship line / route.
Buoy marking will be provided along the ship line inside reef
area to guide ship/barge. A patrol boat will announce the
activity of barge to keep tourist or local people to keep away
from barge.

 Turbidity / Sea water quality control.

(refer to Method Statement of Environmental Monitoring Work) .
