Summative Assessment # 2

DIGITAL POSTER ON SIMULTANEOUS EQUATIONS

Objectives:
At the course of the project, the students will be able:
1. To use appropriate Mathematical language, representation, equations and solutions
2. To create a poster that will exhibit the knowledge and skills learned
3. To present the concept of systems of linear equations using graphing, substitution and
elimination.

Assessment Criteria:
Criterion C (Communicating in Math)
Criterion D (Application of Math in Real-life Context)

Duration: 3 sessions in class for project making and one for evaluation.

Guidelines:
1. By using any editing tools or applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher,
and the like, create an A3-size poster presenting the three different methods in solving
systems of linear equations.

2. Create your own word problem involving simultaneous equations. Present it in three
different methods:
a. Graphing method;
b. Substitution method; and
c. Elimination method

3. Explain your working or solution for each method. Limit your sentences to three (3) only.
4. The poster must contain visual representations such as table, graphs, and equations.
Photos of school facilities, school personnel, and students can be utilized as a form of
representations. Include only photos which are related to the word problem.

5. The poster must be visually presentable. Achieve balance in the layout. Graphical features
such as resolution of photos, size and style of fonts, and foreground and background colors
will be highly considered. Use equation editor in presenting your workings.

6. Be imaginative. Creativity is a plus.

7. Upload the digital poster in ManageBac - DROPBOX every meeting, and on the submission
day. Ensure that the file name is clear. Label each upload as follows:
Yasa8B_draft_day1
Yasa8B_draft_day2
Yasa8B_draft_day3
Yasa8B_finalposter.

8. Submission of DIGITAL OUTPUT and EVALUATION DAY will be on:

8A- February 18, 2021 (Thursday)
8B- February 18, 2021 (Thursday)
8C- February 16, 2021 (Tuesday)
8D - February 17, 2020 (Wednesday)

IMPORTANT NOTE: FAILURE TO SUBMIT ON TIME EQUATES TO A ZERO (0) MARK.
