Constituted 32nd Pursuit Squadron (interceptor) on 22 December 1939. Activated on 1 February 1940.
Redesignated 32nd Fighter Squadron on 15 May 1942; 32nd Fighter Squadron, Single Engine, on 10
February 1944; 32nd Fighter Squadron, Twin Engine, on 13 January 1945; 32nd Fighter Squadron, Single
Engine, on 1 February 1946. Inactivated on 15 October 1946. Redesignated 32nd Fighter-Day Squadron
on 9 May 1955. Activated on 8 September 1955. Redesignated 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron on 8 July

Remarks:
On 13 September 1978, the 1st TFW arrived at Soesterberg. They took over the task of the 32nd for a
three month period. Crews of the 71st flew the machines over. After 45 days, they were replaced by
crews of the 94th TFS. The deployment was called Coronet Sandpiper. During the stay at Soesterberg,
the 71st and 94th TFS were attached to the 32nd TFS.
