Anc JHB Statement On The Rec Lekgotla 2021
The ANC Greater Johannesburg Regional Executive Committee (REC) concluded it's four days virtual Lekgotla
on Sunday, 21 February 2021, which was attended by the leagues, zones, and MKMVA under the theme: Unity,
Renewal, Reconstruction Towards a Decisive Victory in the Year of Mama Charlotte Maxeke, a pioneer of
our liberation and founding member of the Bantu Women’s League.
The virtual REC Lekgotla honoured those who lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic and extended gratitude
and support to all frontline workers faced with the difficult task of saving every life during this pandemic and
committed to supporting all families where the pandemic has struck. In remembrance of those who lost their lives,
the delegates wore black attire on the first day of the Lekgotla.
The REC noted the threat that disunity and discord in the leadership structures of the ANC could bring, and
committed to foster unity in the Region devoid of factionalism and patronage with the necessary revolutionary
discipline including membership declaration entrenched in the policy position of the ANC.
