Surah al - jumu’ah

١ ‫يز أٱل َح ِّك ِّيم‬

ِّ ‫ُّوس أٱل َع ِّز‬
ِّ ‫ض أٱل َم ِّل ِّك أٱلقُد‬
ِّ ‫ت َو َما ِّفي أٱۡل َ أر‬
ِّ ‫س َٰ َم َٰ َو‬ ِّ ‫س ِّب ُح ِّ ه‬
‫ّلِل َما ِّفي ٱل ه‬ َ ُ‫ي‬
1. Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah,
the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

‫َو َما‬ ‫س َٰ َم َٰ َوت‬

َّ ‫ٱل‬ ‫في‬ ‫َما‬ ‫َّلِل‬ ‫سب ُح‬
َ ُ‫ي‬

And the (is) in Whatever Allah Glorifies

whatever heavens

‫ۡٱل َحكيم‬ ‫ۡٱل َعزيز‬ ‫ۡٱلقُدُّوس‬ ‫ۡٱل َملك‬ ‫ۡٱۡل َ ۡرض‬ ‫في‬

the All- the All- the Holy, the the earth, (is) in
Wise. Mighty, Sovereign,

َ َ ‫علَ أي ِّه أم َءا َٰيَتِّ ِّهۦ َويُزَ ِّكي ِّه أم َويُ َع ِّل ُم ُه ُم أٱل ِّك َٰت‬
‫ب‬ َ ْ‫وٗل ِّم أن ُه أم يَ أتلُوا‬ ُ ‫ث فِّي أٱۡل ُ ِّمي ِّۧنَ َر‬
‫س ا‬ َ ‫ُه َو ٱلهذِّي بَ َع‬
َٰ َ ‫و أٱل ِّح أكمةَ وإن َكانُواْ ِّمن قَ أب ُل لَ ِّفي‬
٢ ‫ين‬ ٖ ‫ضلَ ٖل ُّم ِّب‬ ِّ َ َ َ
2. It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves
reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book
and wisdom - although they were before in clear error -
 ٗ ‫س‬
‫ول‬ ُ ‫َر‬ ‫ۡٱۡلُم ۧي َن‬ ‫في‬ َ َ‫بَع‬
‫ث‬ ‫ٱلَّذي‬ ‫ُه َو‬

‫َويُعَل ُم ُه ُم‬ ۡ‫َويُ َزكيهم‬ ‫َءا َٰيَتهۦ‬ ۡ‫علَ ۡيهم‬

َ ‫يَ ۡتلُوا‬ ۡ‫م ۡن ُهم‬

and and His to them reciting from

teaching purifying Verses, themselv
them them es

‫قَ ۡب ُل‬ ‫من‬ ‫كَانُوا‬ ‫َوإن‬ َ‫َو ۡٱلح ۡك َمة‬ َ َ ‫ۡٱلك َٰت‬
‫ب‬

before from they although and the the Book

were wisdom

‫ُّمبين‬ ‫ض َٰلَل‬
َ ‫لَفي‬

clear. an error surely in

 ٣ ‫يز أٱل َح ِّكي ُم‬
ُ ‫َو َءاخ َِّرينَ ِّم أن ُه أم لَ هما يَ أل َحقُواْ بِّ ِّه أۚۡم َو ُه َو أٱلعَ ِّز‬
3. And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the
Exalted in Might, the Wise.

‫َو ُه َو‬ ۡ‫بهم‬ ‫يَ ۡل َحقُوا‬ ‫لَ َّما‬ ۡ‫م ۡن ُهم‬ َ ‫َو َءا َخر‬
‫ين‬

And He them; joined who have Among and others

not yet them

‫ۡٱل َحكي ُم‬ ُ ‫ۡٱل َعز‬

‫يز‬

the All- (is) the All-

Wise. Mighty,

٤ ‫ض ِّل أٱل َع ِّظ ِّيم‬

‫ٱّلِلُ ذُو أٱلفَ أ‬
‫شا ٓ ۚۡ ُء َو ه‬
َ ‫ٱّلِل ي أُؤتِّي ِّه َمن َي‬ ‫َٰذَ ِّل َك فَ أ‬
ِّ ‫ض ُل ه‬
4. That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah
is the possessor of great bounty.

‫شا ٓ ُء‬
َ َ‫ي‬ ‫َمن‬ ‫يُ ۡؤتيه‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
َّ ۡ َ‫ف‬
‫ض ُل‬ َ‫َٰذَلك‬
He wills. (to) whom He gives it (of) Allah, (is the) That
Bounty
 ‫ۡٱلعَظيم‬ ۡ َ‫ۡٱلف‬
‫ضل‬ ‫ذُو‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
ُ َّ ‫َو‬
the Great. (of) bounty (is the) And Allah
Possessor

‫س َمث َ ُل أٱلقَ أو ِّم‬

َ ‫ار ۚۡا بِّ أئ‬ ِّ ‫َمث َ ُل ٱلهذِّينَ ُح ِّملُواْ ٱلت ه أو َر َٰىةَ ث ُ هم لَ أم يَ أح ِّملُوهَا َك َمث َ ِّل أٱل ِّح َم‬
َ َۢ َ‫ار يَ أح ِّم ُل أ َ أسف‬
‫ٱّلِلُ َٗل َيهأ دِّي أٱلقَ أو َم َٰ ه‬
٥ َ‫ٱلظ ِّل ِّمين‬ ِّ ۡۚ ‫ت ه‬
‫ٱّلِل َو ه‬ ِّ ْ‫ٱلهذِّينَ َكذهبُوا‬
ِّ ‫بۧ َۧا َٰ َي‬
5. The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did
not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].
Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And
Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

ۡ‫لَم‬ ‫ث ُ َّم‬ َ‫ٱلت َّ ۡو َر َٰىة‬ ‫ُحملُوا‬ َ ‫ٱلَّذ‬

‫ين‬ ‫َمث َ ُل‬

not then (with) the were (of) those (the)

Taurat entrusted who likeness

َ ‫ب ۡئ‬
‫س‬ َ َۢ َ‫أ َ ۡسف‬
‫ارا‬ ‫يَ ۡحم ُل‬ ‫ۡٱلح َمار‬ ‫َك َمثَل‬ ‫يَ ۡحملُو َها‬

Wretched books. who the (is) like they bore

is carries donkey it,
 ‫ٱلِل‬
َّ ‫با َٰ َيت‬ ‫َكذَّبُوا‬ َ ‫ٱلَّذ‬
‫ين‬ ‫ۡٱلقَ ۡوم‬ ‫َمث َ ُل‬

(of) Allah. (the) deny who (of) the (the)

Signs people example

َّ َٰ ‫ٱل‬
َ ‫ظلم‬
‫ين‬ ‫ۡٱلقَ ۡو َم‬ ‫يَ ۡهدي‬ ‫َل‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
ُ َّ ‫َو‬

the the guide (does) not And Allah

wrongdoer people,
s.

َ ‫اس فَت َ َمنه ُواْ أٱل َم أو‬

‫ت إِّن ُكنت ُ أم‬ ِّ ‫ُون ٱلنه‬
ِّ ‫ّلِل ِّمن د‬ َ َ‫قُ أل َٰيَٓأَيُّ َها ٱلهذِّينَ هَاد ُٓواْ إِّن ز‬
ِّ ‫ع أمت ُ أم أَنه ُك أم أ َ أو ِّليَا ٓ ُء ِّ ه‬
٦ َ‫ص ِّدقِّين‬ َ َٰ
6. Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allah,
excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."

ۡ‫َزع َۡمت ُم‬ ‫إن‬ ‫َهاد ُٓوا‬ َ ‫ٱلَّذ‬

‫ين‬ ‫َٰيَٓأَيُّ َها‬ ‫قُ ۡل‬
you claim if (are) you (who) O say,
Jews!

‫ٱلنَّاس‬ ‫دُون‬ ‫من‬ ‫َّلِل‬ ‫أ َ ۡوليَا ٓ ُء‬ ۡ‫أَنَّكُم‬

 the excluding from of Allah. (are) allies that you
people,

َ َٰ
َ ‫صدق‬
‫ين‬ ۡ‫كُنت ُم‬ ‫إن‬ َ‫ۡٱل َم ۡوت‬ ‫فَت َ َمنَّ ُوا‬
truthful." you are if (for) the then wish
death,

‫ع ِّلي َۢ ُم ِّب َٰ ه‬
٧ َ‫ٱلظ ِّل ِّمين‬ ‫َو َٗل َيت َ َمنه أونَهُۥٓ أ َ َب َۢ َدا ِّب َما قَ هد َم أت أ َ أيدِّي ِّه أۚۡم َو ه‬
َ ُ‫ٱّلِل‬
7. But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put
forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

ۡ‫أ َ ۡيديهم‬ ‫قَ َّد َم ۡت‬ ‫ب َما‬ ‫أَبَ َۢ َدا‬ ٓ‫يَت َ َمنَّ ۡونَهُۥ‬ ‫َو َل‬

their hands. (have) sent for what ever, they will but not
forth wish for it,

‫ين‬ َّ َٰ ‫بٱل‬
َ ‫ظلم‬ ‫عَلي َۢ ُم‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
ُ َّ ‫َو‬

of the (is) All- And Allah

wrongdoers Knowing
.
 َّ ‫علم ۡٱلغَ ۡيب َوٱل‬
ۡ‫ش َٰ َهدَة فَيُنَبئُكُم ب َما كُنت ُم‬ َ ‫ون م ۡنهُ فَإنَّهُۥ ُم َٰلَقيكُمۡ ۖۡ ث ُ َّم ت ُ َرد‬
َ َٰ ‫ُّون إلَ َٰى‬ َ ‫قُ ۡل إنَّ ۡٱل َم ۡوتَ ٱلَّذي تَف ُّر‬
٨ ‫ون‬ َ ُ‫ت َ ۡع َمل‬
8. Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you.
Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed,
and He will inform you about what you used to do."

ُ‫م ۡنه‬ َ ‫تَف ُّر‬

‫ون‬ ‫ٱلَّذي‬ َ‫ۡٱل َم ۡوت‬ ‫إ َّن‬ ‫قُ ۡل‬

from it, you flee which the death Indeed,|?? say,

???

َ َٰ
‫علم‬ ‫إ َل َٰى‬ َ ‫ت ُ َرد‬
‫ُّون‬ ‫ث ُ َّم‬ ۡۖ ۡ‫ُم َٰلَقيكُم‬ ‫فَإنَّهُۥ‬

(the) All- to you will be then (will) meet then

Knower sent back you. surely it

َ ُ‫ت َ ۡع َمل‬
‫ون‬ ۡ‫كُنت ُم‬ ‫ب َما‬ ‫فَيُنَبئُكُم‬ ‫ش َٰ َهدَة‬
َّ ‫َوٱل‬ ‫ۡٱلغَ ۡيب‬
 do." you used [of] what and He and the (of) the
to will inform witnessed, unseen
you

‫ٱّلِل َوذَ ُرواْ أٱلبَ أي ۚۡ َع‬ ‫صلَ َٰوةِّ ِّمن يَ أو ِّم أٱل ُج ُمعَ ِّة فَ أ‬
ِّ ‫ٱسعَ أواْ إِّلَ َٰى ذ أِّك ِّر ه‬ ٓ
َ ‫َٰيَأَيُّ َها ٱلهذِّينَ َءا َمنُ ٓواْ إِّذَا نُود‬
‫ِّي ِّلل ه‬
٩ َ‫ر له ُك أم ِّإن ُكنت ُ أم ت َعأ لَ ُمون‬ٞ ‫َٰذَ ِّل ُك أم خ أَي‬
9. O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on
the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and
leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.

‫صلَ َٰوة‬
َّ ‫لل‬ َ ‫نُود‬
‫ي‬ ‫إذَا‬ ‫َءا َمنُ ٓوا‬ َ ‫ٱلَّذ‬
‫ين‬ ‫َٰيَٓأَيُّ َها‬

for (the) (the) call When believe! (you) who O

prayer is made

‫ذ ۡكر‬ ‫إلَ َٰى‬ ۡ َ‫ف‬

‫ٱسعَ ۡوا‬ ‫ۡٱل ُج ُمعَة‬ ‫يَ ۡوم‬ ‫من‬
 (the) to then (of) (the) Day On
remembra hasten Friday,
nce

ۡ‫لَّكُم‬ ‫َخ ۡير‬ ۡ‫َٰذَلكُم‬ ‫ۡٱلبَ ۡي َع‬ ‫َوذَ ُروا‬ ‫ٱلِل‬

َّ

for you, (is) better That the And leave (of) Allah
business.

َ ‫ت َ ۡعلَ ُم‬
‫ون‬ ۡ‫كُنت ُم‬ ‫إن‬

know. You If

َ ‫ٱّلِلِّ َو أٱذ ُك ُرواْ ه‬

‫ٱّلِل َكثِّ ايرا‬ ‫ض ِّل ه‬ ِّ ‫صلَ َٰوة ُ فَٱنت َ ِّش ُرواْ فِّي أٱۡل َ أر‬
‫ض َو أٱبتَغُواْ ِّمن فَ أ‬ ‫ت ٱل ه‬
ِّ ‫ض َي‬ِّ ُ‫فَإِّذَا ق‬
١٠ َ‫له َعله ُك أم ت ُ أف ِّل ُحون‬
10. And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and
seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may
succeed.

‫ۡٱۡل َ ۡرض‬ ‫في‬ ‫فَٱنتَش ُروا‬ ُ‫صلَ َٰوة‬

َّ ‫ٱل‬ ‫قُضيَت‬ ‫فَإذَا‬
 the land In then the prayer, is then when
disperse concluded

‫ٱلِل‬
َ َّ ‫َو ۡٱذك ُُروا‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
َّ ۡ َ‫ف‬
‫ضل‬ ‫من‬ ‫َو ۡٱبتَغُوا‬
Allah and (of) Allah, (the) from and seek
remember Bounty

َ ‫ت ُ ۡفل ُح‬
‫ون‬ ۡ‫لَّ َعلَّكُم‬ ‫كَث ٗيرا‬
succeed. so that Much
you may

ِّ ‫وك قَآئِّ ام ۚۡا قُ أل َما ِّعن َد ه‬

َ‫ر ِّمنَ ٱللههأ ِّو َو ِّمن‬ٞ ‫ٱّلِل خ أَي‬ َ ‫َو ِّإذَا َرأ َ أواْ تِّ َٰ َج َرة ً أ َ أو لَهأ ًوا ٱنفَض ُّٓواْ ِّإلَ أي َها َوت ََر ُك‬
١١ َ‫ٱلر ِّزقِّين‬ ‫ٱّلِلُ خ أَي ُر َٰ ه‬ ‫ٱلتِّ َٰ َج َر ۚۡةِّ َو ه‬
11. But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muhammad], they
rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than
diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers."

ُّ َ‫ٱنف‬
‫ض ٓوا‬ ‫لَ ۡه ًوا‬ ‫أ َ ۡو‬ ً‫ت َٰ َج َرة‬ ‫َرأ َ ۡوا‬ ‫َوإذَا‬
they a sport, or a they saw And when
rushed transactio
n
 ‫عن َد‬ ‫َما‬ ‫قُ ۡل‬ ‫قَا ٓئ ٗما‬ َ‫َوت َ َركُوك‬ ‫إلَ ۡي َها‬
(is) with what say, standing. and left to it
you

‫ٱلت َٰ َج َرة‬ ‫َوم َن‬ ‫ٱللَّ ۡهو‬ ‫م َن‬ ‫َخ ۡير‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
َّ
(any) And from the sport than (is) better Allah
transactio
n.

‫ين‬ َّ َٰ
َ ‫ٱلرزق‬ ‫َخ ۡي ُر‬ ‫ٱلِل‬
ُ َّ ‫َو‬
(of) the (is the) And Allah
Providers. best
"
