ESSAY

The internet has transformed the way information is shared and consumed but it has also created
problems that did not exist before. What are the most serious problems associated with the
internet and what solution can you suggest?

Nowadays many people can not imagine their life without the internet. Although the internet has
the potential to make human lives convenient and straightforward, it also creates issues.
Firstly, the most serious problem associated with the internet is anonymity, as internet users can
easily conceal their identity and even impersonate others. Many crimes such as identity theft and child
abuse result from the ease with which criminals can operate anonymously online. Some countries have
proposed a system of online identification, similar to a passport, which would allow all internet users to
be verified and traced. I believe, this idea should be explored further.
Secondly, being addicted to the internet can be a dangerous and life-changing state. Internet
addiction is a behavioral addiction marked by a compulsive desire to perform one or more online
activities, including gaming, social media, or browsing. That causes people to distance themselves from
reality, friends, or family. In my opinion, internet addiction can be effectively treated using behavioral
and cognitive therapies.
To conclude, the most serious problems associated with the internet are crimes and addiction.
These issues can be solved easily by implementing strict laws and using behavioral and cognitive
therapies.
