On the second and fourth Sundays newcomers are invited to join us at the Welcome Corner in the back of the
sanctuary. Today is the fourth Sunday. This is chance to meet a member of the church and ask questions or learn
more about UUism and who are the ORUUCians. We meet during the “Connections” 11:00 hour. Jo Ann Garrett

Compassionate Communication Practice Group,
2-3:30 p.m., East Room
Today’s session focuses on the second step of Marshall
Rosenberg’s “Compassionate Communication,”
expressing feelings. This group is open to all who are
interested in working to be better able to communicate in
ways that connect us, not divide us. Annie Golson,

“Our Whole Lives” Parent Orientation,
4-6 p.m., East Room
This session is intended for all parents of youth in grades
10-12 who are considering participation in upcoming
sexuality education. The orientation will provide an
overview of the curriculum, a sampling of some of the
activities, and an opportunity to view the video that is

Nashville for "Advancing Equality Quality Day on the
Hill." If you want to meet your Senators and
Representatives with a group of people to discuss
GLBT issues of equality here's your chance. The
group will leave early 5:30 ish a.m. to meet a group
from TVUUC. Becky Spain-Kaiser has the details -

Group Leaders Gathering,
Tuesday, March 8, 5:30 – 7 p.m.
All leaders of ongoing groups in the church, from the
preschool group to the Board of Trustees and everything
in between, are invited to gather for supper and
conversation in the Social Hall. This is the second of our
newly-established monthly sessions (second Tuesdays.)
Come build connections with fellow group leaders and
gain insight and skills in group leadership and facilitation.
This month’s focus is a consideration of an “Open
Church” approach to congregational life at Stoplight 11
and how this would apply to existing groups in our

Conscious Consumption Group
Tuesday, March 8 at 7PM
The Locavore group, in an effort to reflect our expanding
interests, is changing its name to the Conscious
Consumption Group. We will explore how to become
fully aware of, and intentional about, our decisions as
consumers. In that spirit, we will be begin our
exploration with the UUA's study guide, Ethical Eating.
We have chosen this topic in preparation for this year's
General Assembly, where we as an association will
debate our responsibilities to ourselves and our planet in
relation to how we feed ourselves. This debate will
culminate in a vote to be taken on a Statement of
Conscience, the Draft of which is available on the UUA
website.
This is a very broad topic, involving much more than
'organic vs. traditional' and we invite all to join us as we
being this new adventure. We will also continue to
discuss gardening, eating, cooking, finding good food,
and other scrumptious topics. We hope to see you at our
next gathering, Tuesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the East
Room, to discuss the first topic in the guide
