1. State Newton's laws of motion.

Newton's first law of motion: An object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it.

Newton's second law of motion: Force on an object=mass times its acceleration.

Newton's third law of motion: When two objects interact, they apply forces to each other of equal
magnitude and opposite direction.

2. Explain "Linear Momentum"

Linear momentum is the product of a system's mass multiplied by its velocity.

3. State the principle of conservation of linear momentum.

The principle of linear momentum states that if no external forces act on the system of two colliding
objects, the vector sum of the linear momentum of each body remains constant and is not affected by
mutual interaction. The formula for linear momentum is p=mv.

4. Distinguish between elastic and inelastic collisions.

Elastic collision is one in which there is no kinetic energy in the collision while inelastic collision is one in
which part of the kinetic energy is changed to some other form of energy in the collision.

5. Explain the concept of "Impulse of a force"

An impulse of a force is the integral of a force over the time interval for which it acts.

6. Draw and interpret F-t graphs.
