Evaluate the Contribution of the Human Activities to the destruction of the environment.

Humans impact the environment in many ways to the point it includes decreased water
quality, increased pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, depletion of natural resources and
contribution to global climate change while some of these are the direct result of human
activities, others are secondary effects that are part of a series of actions and reactions. I’m
going to evaluate the following activities such as water pollution that too much nutrients can
rapidly reduced water quality causing overgrowth of certain bacteria and algae that uses
oxygen for other species. Then next is the air pollution which occurred when air pollutants
such as lead-based compounds may lead to serious health problems like cancer and birth
defects.

Third is the climate change that refers to the increase of temperature across the globe due to
carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions and also make the glaciers melt, releasing
water that causes sea levels to rise coastal communities and economies. Lastly, solutions
occurred on a daily basis to minimized their impact to the environment for instance when
taking a public transportation or biking will lessen the amount of carbon dioxide emissions.
We can also reduce the amount of fertilizer that’s being applied to lawns, gardens and
vegetables will lowers the chance of water pollution which is beneficial and the use of less
energy may avoid the possible risk of pollution such as coal burning power plants.

Integrate and assess how effective the national government’s efforts are in protecting our
environment from overexploitation which is caused by man’s greed?
Based from what I stated, the Philippine Government were very serious in protecting our
environment and natural resources that according to Duterte’s administration, they aimed to
shut down every establishment in which it did not comply the environmental laws. During the
era of Gina Lopez when she was head of the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR), she declares closure to all illegal mining areas that operates in the
mountains people used to quarry a lot of resources inside just to collect as many as they desire
and the Duterte administration warns to everyone that whoever violated any of the following,
they will be punished from the given penalties he implemented.
