The "Radical Experiment in Empathy" video was truly radical. Once Sam
Richards started describing the scenario, | immediately stepped outside of my
thoughts because | knew this was going to require a lot of empathy.
As Richards began to explain the story of the middle east, | could see in my
mind American soldiers walking amongst me. | began to then think about the
scenario of the Chinese coming to America to take our coal. After that I think
about how we Americans would be viewed if we were to fight against the
Chinese for taking resources on our land. Would we be patriots or terrorists?
By thinking in this way | was able to reinforce my strengths in self awareness.
For a long time | did neglect this concept of war though. After this experiment,
my mind and feelings for others have only expanded now. From now on, | will
remember this experiment whenever | interact with others.
