SWOT Analysis to promote and preserve Mactan Shrine in

Introduction:
Hailed by many to be the first local Filipino hero, Lapu-Lapu led native Filipino
warriors to resist the Spanish invasion of Visayas. Victorious in the Battle of
Mactan against Ferdinand Magellan, Lapu-Lapu managed to prevent Spanish
colonization for another 40 years.
His image is now on the Philippine National Police and the Bureau of Fire
Protection seals, while this particular monument was erected in his honor on
Mactan Island, standing about 20 meters tall.

Strengths:
Many people still go and visit Mactan Shrine.
It still commemorates Lapu-Lapu’s victory.
The shrine is still there and still standing strong.
It is well maintained and cleaned.
Weakness:
The area gets crowded a lot.
There is a possibility it will get destroyed by a strong earthquake.
It will get flooded if a tsunami occurs.
Opportunities:
Since there are a lot of people that visit it and many vendors can make a living
there. People can take pictures of themselves and spread the story of Lapu-Lapu.
Threats:
Some people come here only for pictures.
The area is full of people and this can lead to loitering.
The area can be having a lot of thieves because it has a lot of visitors.
