DANGEROUS DRUGS
ACT of 2002 (RA 9156)
WHAT IS COMPREHENSIVE DANGEROUS DRUGS
ACT OF 2002 (RA 9165)?
The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is a
policy imposed by the government to deal with the state’s problem
with illegal drugs, particularly how it affects the youth.
This law has to be taken seriously because it does not
allow plea bargaining. This means that once an offender is caught,
he or she could not make an arrangement with a prosecutor. With
this, the defendant or the accused could not plead guilty to a lesser
charge. He or she could not avoid a criminal trial. To make things
worse, the probation law is not allowed to those who violate this
national law on dangerous drugs or RA 9165.
