Instructions

Please read the following instructions carefully before solving & submitting assignment:

It should be clear that your assignment will not get any credit (zero marks) if:

o The assignment is submitted after due date.

o The submitted assignment is other than .doc or .docx file.
o The submitted assignment does NOT open or file is corrupted.
o The assignment is copied (from other student or ditto copy from handouts or internet).
o In order to draw Flowchart and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), you can use any drawing
tool such as MS Visio, MS Paint etc. You can also draw diagram in MS Word directly.
Furthermore any online drawing tool can also be used such as https://app.diagrams.net/ .

Uploading instructions

o For clarity and simplicity, you are required to Upload/Submit only .doc or .docx file.
o In case you use any drawing tool, then after drawing, copy your diagram and paste it into MS Word.
Then, submit your solution as MS Word file (.doc or .docx file) on LMS.
Objective

The objective of this assignment is:

o To make students learn the concepts of Flowchart, Entity Relationship Diagram and its drawing.

Note:
No assignment will be accepted after the due date via email in any case (whether it is the case of load shedding or
internet malfunctioning etc.). Hence refrain from uploading assignment in the last hour of deadline. It is
recommended to upload solution file at least two days before its closing date.

Covering Lectures: Assignment 3 covers lectures 23 to 26.

Question Statement:

Consider following scenario:

Suppose ABC Company is providing facility of online shopping to its customers nationwide. In order to buy
online, first customer opens the website of this company. After website opens, customer opens category of items
in which his/her required item is expected to be available. Now customer finds his required item and before
placing order customer has to check whether item is in stock or not. If it is in stock, it will be added to cart. Now
when customer will checkout, he/she will enter his personal and shipping details. Here suppose website only
provides options of Cash on Delivery and if that amount of selected items is less than 2000 then standard delivery
charges will be applied otherwise free delivery will be offered. So, after this step, customer will place order.

Now, you are required to perform following steps.

(a). Draw Flowchart for above given scenario.

(b). Draw an ERD for given scenario showing entities, attributes and relationships clearly.

Note: Deadline for assignment submission is 1st February 2021.
