INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
1. There are FOUR questions on this paper.
2. Answer ALL questions.
3. Read the instructions carefully before attempting EACH question.
4. Perform the instructions for EACH question in the order given.
5. Report any problems with the computer or software to the invigilator who will, if possible,
grant you extra time to make up for time lost.
6. If problems are experienced in printing your files, you may request aid from the invigilator
or teacher. Printing is not considered part of the examination.
8. A diskette will be provided which must be submitted together with all print-outs at the end
of the examination. Note that the examination is marked from the printed output and NOT
from the diskette.
1. (a) Open the file named SECURITY which is located on your diskette.
(b) Set the page size to letter size with landscape orientation. ( 1 mark)
(d) Insert the text SECURITY ADVISORY as the title of the document. The title should
be two lines above the content of the document. ( 2 marks)
(e) Centre and bold the title SECURITY ADVISORY. Apply Arial font of size 20 to the
title. ( 2 marks)
(f) Insert the file TRAVEL which is located on your diskette as third paragraph of your
document. ( 2 marks)

(h) Right-align the table between the left and right margins and remove all-borders except
the outside border. ( 2 marks)
(i) Insert the text below as the second sentence of the last paragraph.
Each visitor's photograph and finger prints will also be stored. ( 2marks)
(j ) Divide the page into two columns such that the first two paragraphs are in Column 1 and
the remaining paragraphs are in Column 2. The columns should NOT affect the title of
the document. ( 4 marks)
(1) Use the spell checker to correct the spelling of ALL the underlined words.

(n) Insert a footer with the text CONFIDENTIAL in the centre of the footer.
( 2 marks)
(o) Use the automatic page numbering feature to insert page numbers at the top centre of
the entire document. ( 2 marks)

(c) Using the data from the Visitors table in the Immigration database on your diskette, insert
the three merge fields in the appropriate locations above. ( 2 marks)
3. (a) Open the spreadsheet file named "VISITORS" which is located on your diskette so that
it begins in Cell A6.
(c) Use the date function to insert the system date in Cell Fl. ( 1 mark)
(d) Insert a row between South America and Europe and enter the following data:
(e) Insert Columns F and G with the headings "Total" and "Percentages" in Cells F6
and G6 respectively. In Cell Al3, insert the text "Total". ( 1 mark)
(f) In Cell A3 and A4, enter the spreadsheet title rows respectively :

(g) Format the title rows with Arial font of size 18, bold and centred across Columns A
through G. ( 2 marks)
(h) In the appropriate cells, insert formulae to compute the TOTAL visitors for EACH
year and for EACH continent. ( 2 marks)
(i) In Column G insert the appropriate formulae to compute percentage of visitors for
EACH continent. Use absolute addressing. ( 2 marks)
(k) Format ALL numeric data in Columns A through F to comma format and 0 decimal
place. ( 1 mark )

(n) In the range B 17:B19, insert appropriate functions to compute the average, minimum
and maximum number of yearly visitors. ( 3 marks)
(q) Extract the records that represent continents whose 2002 visitors were above 100,000.
Include the continent and the 2002 figure. The criterion range should start in Cell A25
and the extracted data range should start in Cell A30. ( 3 marks)
(r) Create a Bar chart showing the yearly visitors to the island. EACH bar should be labeled
to indicate the year it represents, or a legend should be provided. The bar chart should
have a title "VISITORS : 2001 - 2004". Axes should be labeled appropriately.

4. (a) Open the database file named IMMIGRATION from the diskette.
(b) Add a new record to the Visitors table with the following data:

(c) Modify the Country table and change risk toY for country with CC = "TR".
( 1 mark)
(d) Remove the record with CC = "UG" from the visitors table. ( 1 mark )
(e) Sort the visitors table in DESCENDING order by DOE. Save your table.

(i) All countries considered a security risk. Save your query as RISKQRY.

(ii) All visitors who have made more than 5 previous visits. ( 2 marks)
Save your query as FREQRY.
(iii) All visitors who have entered the country after 02/28/05. ( 2 marks)
Save your query as MARQRY.
(vii) Each visitor who has made over 5 previous visits is given a discount coupon
to be computed as djscount coupon = Previous visits x $5. Create a new field
in the visitor table to calculate the djscount coupon given to EACH visitor. Save
your query as COUPQRY. ( 3 marks)
(g) (i) Generate a report sorted by Cname, to show a list of visitors. The report
should display the last name, flrst name, Cname, and previous visits of EACH
visitor. The report should have the title "VISITORS". Name this report VISRPT.
( 5 marks)
(ii) Generate a report named EDURPT to show ALL Persons who have entered
the island for education and are from a country listed as a security risk. Display
the Last, First, Purpose, Cname and Risk flelds. Sort the report in ASCENDING
order by the Last fleld. ( 5 marks)
