4. ADJUSTMENTS
4.1 INTRODUCTION
The radiological system is entirely regulated in the factory: it is therefore only necessary to
install it to be able to use it.
All the information contained in this SECTION 5 and in SECTION 6 should be used when an Extraordinary
Maintenance operation becomes necessary.
Table 5.1 indicates the Potentiometers which do not require any further
adjustments since they have already been adjusted and sealed in the factory.

4.2 SET-UP PROCEDURE
In the following parts of this chapter, reference is made to the SET-UP PROCEDURE of the system.
To access this mode, only work from the UNIT console.
Selection of Set-up is made when the system is turned on, as illustrated below.
• Turn the Unit on by pressing the ON and mAs decrease keys at the same time .
• The Set-up screen will appear. Press the Set-up Symbol
• Now enter password 1441 on the alphanumerical keyboard which will appear and you will
enter the General Set-up screen .
4.3 KV ADJUSTMENTS
Ser kV ADJ to40 kV
The SET kV voltage is supplied by the microprocessor and must be adjusted
according to the ratio kv/20 ( 1V=20 kV). 2,00 V
• Press the “Set 40 kV” field. + -
• Connect the probes of a digital multimeter in Vdc on the S 19/B card CP1-10 CP1-2

ATTENTION !
By FILAMENT CURRENT, the current passing through the primary
winding of the power supply transformer of the filament itself is meant
(COOLIDGE TRANSFORMER).
A) MEASUREMENTS
To measure the FILAMENT CURRENT, connect the probes of a digital multimeter in AmA
in series between S15-CP1/2
S15 CP1/2 (+) and the green wire of the electric cable of filament.
To measure the anode mA in RADIOGRAPHY, connect the probe of an oscilloscope
between test points TP6(+) and TP11(-
TP11(-) of the S 19/B card. Correspondence in
reading is 1V=50mA, whereas between test points TP3(+) and TP11(-TP11(-) of the S 19/B
card to display the kV wave form. Correspondence in reading is 1V=20kV ;

C) ADJUSTMENT OF THE NARROW FOCUS CURRENT
Activate the SET UP procedure ;
Select “40 KV 125mA ”
Adjust the set value of the “D DAC” by means of the mAs selection keys until you
obtain a filament current,
current displayed on the digital voltmeter, which is the same as
the one indicated in table 5.4.
Command X-Ray and check that the anode mA are 125; 125 if necessary re-adjust the SET
UP until you obtain the desired value ;
Select “80 KV 50mA”.
Adjust the set value of the “D
DAC”, again by means of the mAs selection keys until you
obtain a filament current,
current displayed on the digital voltmeter, which is the same as
the one indicated in table 5.4.

Command X-Ray and check that the anode mA are 50 mA; if necessary re-adjust the
SET UP until you obtain the desired value; 1V=20kV
Select “80 KV 125mA” -

Adjust the set value of the “D DAC” by means of the mAs selection keys until you TP3 TP11
obtain a filament current,
current displayed on the digital voltmeter, which is the same as
the one indicated in table 5.4.

A) MEASUREMENT
Remove the bridge between terminals CP3-
CP3-1 and CP3-
CP3-3 of the S19/Bcard.
Connect a mAs meter between the above terminals.
B) PROCEDURE
50mAs
Command X-Ray;
On the instrument, check that the mAs value is really the one set (50
50 mAs – Typ. DAC 0480);
0480
if necessary re-adjust the SET UP until you obtain the desired value;
exit SET UP. mAs
A) MEASUREMENTS
To measure the true voltage in the Battery,
Battery connect a digital Multimeter with RMS reading
between the XT2-C(+) XT2-C(-) of the IB04 card.
ATTENTION !
350 Vdc voltage present – take the necessary precautions!
Check that the maximum charge value does not exceed 355 Vdc.
Should it exceed this value, contact the technical service.

4.7 CHECKING RADIOGRAPHIC PARAMETERS
After having completed the operations indicated in the previous paragraphs, it is
necessary to check the values of the proportional signals at the kV and mA which arrive
at the INVERTER. The kV signal tolerance is ± 5%, whereas for the mA it is ± 15%.
15%
ATTENTION!
If the kV value is incorrect, it is necessary to repeat
the SET kV adjustment.
ATTENTION!
For the following checks, an oscilloscope with two channels is required.
• CHANNEL A:
A TP3(+) - TP11(-
TP11(-) of the S 19/B card (kV
kV AT THE TUBE);
• TIME BASE: 20 ms
Ch. A
If necessary, connect the probe of the oscilloscope as follows : + -
TP3 TP11
• CHANNEL B:
B TP6(+) - TP11(-
TP11(-) of the S 19/B card (mA) ;
• TIME BASE: 20 ms Ch. B
+ -
Command X-Ray and check that the values read on the oscilloscope correspond with
those given in TABLE 5.6.1;
5.6.1
Repeat the previous operations setting the kV values at 80 kV and 100 kV and 120kV.
