ICT APPLICATION
Welcome to the Empowerment Technologies for Grade 11 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM)
Module on ICT Productivity Tools (Application).
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set
by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in
schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of the module.
As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module. You also need
to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage their own learning.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the tasks
included in the module.
Welcome to the Empowerment Technologies for Grade 11 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM)
Module on ICT Productivity Tools (Application).
In this time of pandemic, sending out information to convey important information about Corona
Virus is vital. Because of ICT, things are now sent much faster than the traditional newsletters or
postal mail. An automated way of creating and sending uniform letters with different receiver is
the use of mail merge.
In this module you will learn the advanced features of Microsoft Word in creating innovative
output using mail merge and integrating images into documents. Microsoft Word easily create
and maintain mailing lists, create personalized documents and create newsletters. It also helps
you send documents to a group of people for feedback. You will also learn the advanced feature
of Microsoft PowerPoint to use in presentation. Animations and hyperlinking in PowerPoint
presentations have successfully positioned itself as a tool to present data and information for
presenting school and business.
In this module, the learners will learn how to create an original or derivative ICT content to effectively
communicate present data or information related to specific professional tracks. The application of mail
merging, inserting images in a document, animation will be tackled, along with how they are used and
what purpose they serve.
The use of the advance tools of Microsoft Office helps you in creating and presenting data or information
in efficient way that saves your time in producing a large number of mails or data at the same time.

In addition, the WPS office suite has the same features of Microsoft office with basic tools: word
processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation tool.
What is It
Productivity tool helps you to create professional quality document, presentations, graphics and
more. Microsoft Office is a common productivity software package which includes Microsoft
Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

� You are the SSG President of your school and you are tasked to make and send out a
thank you letter to parents who donated essentials goods in your school. You are given
a list of names and address format of 10 parents. And also to make your thank you letter
appealing you wanted to insert a picture or image to the letter.
Questions:
1. How would you briefly describe to complete the task of sending the ten thank you
letter with individual names and address using MS Word?
2. Describe how you can insert pictures to the letter.
