DRIVERS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

They shall be responsible to perform the following activities include but not
limited to:

 Shall hook/load the rig components on their trucks/trailers in a safe manner and
as directed by the Convoy Leader and Rig Move Supervisor.

 Shall ensure that loaded components are secured using chains/bundles/guard


posts before traveling regardless of the distance.

 Shall follow the designated route as instructed by the Rig Move Supervisor and
Convoy Leader and never proceed with a load from the old location without their
permission.
 Perform daily / weekly pre-trip inspection of truck (lights, brakes, fluid levels,
tires,etc.), trailers, and auxiliary equipment (chains, belts, straps, hooks,
ratchets).Immediate reporting of defective equipment must be done to ensure
effective corrections to be initiated. A vehicle checklist should be obtained from
the Safety Officer, filled up and signed by the Operations Manager to be
submitted to the Mechanic Department for Maintenance repair.
 All pertinent/ necessary documents should be re-checked, valid and available
(license, load permit, documents for chemical transfer)
 Use or being under the influence of alcohol or any medication, which may affect
driving /operating, is highly prohibited.
 Ensure adherence to work safety compliance to avoid endangering colleagues
(driving/eating while driving, answering, / making phone calls) and, confirming
understanding job role in safe operation by wearing complete and proper PPE.
 Proper Loading/ Hauling and Securing of rig equipment - ensuring that the load is
not extended/ protruding on either sides of the trailer to avoid fall or unwarranted
contact to any vehicle. Note- Warning Flag/ tape will be secured to act as signal
to any personnel/ vehicle that load is considered wide and extended.
 Perform en-route management. Following designated route and permissible
speed limit per load/ equipment category per instruction from immediate
supervisor/ convoy leader. Never perform any journey or unwarranted action
without proper approval. Note- All vehicles should be fueled the night after
operation has ceased to avoid delay of work the following day.
 Speed Limit:
- Road Legal Loads
- 40 kph – Rig Road
- 50 kph – Black top Wide Loads (Moved in Convoy)
- 25 kph – Speed limit in convoy
- 50 meters minimum distance between truck unit Mast or Sub-Structure Move
 Immediate reporting of site collision or accidents or any violations encountered to
avoid any downtime of operational status.
