wellbore, as well as providing a predetermined weight on the bit (WOB).
5.3 Equipment/Schematic
• Derrick or mast w/crown block, guide rails, ladders, gangways, lightening etc.
• Travelling block.
• Elevators/spiders.
• Drawwork.
• Drill line.
• Deadline anchor.
• Derrick escape line.
• Power slips.
5.4 Performance

drawworks)
5.5 Regularity
• The derrick shall be capable of skidding with full set back in 25m/s wind.
• A travelling block hang off system shall be included in the design. The system shall support
the weight of the top drive and the travelling block.
• A stop/warning system to prevent collision of the travelling block/top drive with drill-floor,
crown block and pipehandling system racking-arms etc. shall be included in the design.
• The derrick/mast shall include sufficient number of certified pad eyes for snatch blocks.
• The derrick/mast shall be equipped with a retractable guiding system for travelling
block/topdrive with enough offset to avoid interference between the drillpipe in the rotary
table and the travelling block/top drive.
• The hoisting arrangement shall allow for entering of wireline tools through the top drive.
• Lubrication points with difficult access, f.ex. sheaves below the crown block, shall be
collected in a central lubrication system.
• An escape arrangement in addition to the normal access way, leading away from the
derrick/mast to a safe area, shall be provided.
