I will to tell you about my hometown. I was born and raised there and I can say it is
definitely my favorite place, my hometown is called Purwokerto. Purwokerto is a small city, It is
both traditional and modern because of having several festivals celebrated by the locals, and
at the same time it is starting to be developed with increasing number
of infrastructures and establishments. Purwokerto is a capital city of Banyumas Regency,
Central Java, Indonesia. It has 4 subdistrict and 27 village. Purwokerto is bordered by Brebes
Regency in the north; Purbalingga Regency, Banjarnegara Regency, and Kebumen Regency in the
east, and Cilacap Regency in the south and west. Purwokerto located in the south part of Slamet

Purwokerto has two major streets, they are Jl. Jendral Sudirman and Jl. Gatot Soebroto.
Purwokerto also called as Purwokerto ‘SATRIA’, it stands for Sejahtera, Adil, Tertib, Rapi, dan,

such as Curug Telu, Curug Jenggala, Curug Bayan and Curug Gomblang. Baturraden has
fresh air, because it is located at the foot of Mount Slamet.

Baturraden also has a very nice pine forest, it’s Limpakuwus. From Limpakuwus you can see
the green expanse of trees, if you are lucky you can see a herd cows like in New Zealand. The
forest, which is overgrown with pine trees that are more than 30 years old, is an attraction for
tourists, because of its cool and beautiful environment. Along the way, the trees were
towering. In fact, next to it there is a large grass field for the cows to roam.

Old buildings also still exist in Purwokerto such as museum, the BRI Bank Museum
was built in this city because, the first time Bank in Indonesia was located in Purwokerto, and
the founder is R. Wira Atmadja, the native.
There are some city park inside the city, Alun-Alun, Andhang Pangrenan, Bale
Kemambang. Barrage. Purwokerto also has sports facilities in GOR SATRIA, there is
Football Stadium, Basketball Stadium, Volley Stadium, Futsal Stadium, Roller-skate circuit,
Shooting ground, Tennis Stadium, and wall climbing. There is one famous badminton player
named Christian Hadinata who was born in Purwokerto.
