 The Coronavirus (COVID –19) is a conta-
gious disease caused by severe acute respira-
tory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
 Severe acute respiratory syndrome corona-
virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a novel severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus. It was first
isolated from three people with pneumonia
connected to the cluster of acute respiratory
illness cases in Wuhan.
 COVID-19 can provisionally be diagnosed on
the basis of symptoms and confirmed us-
ing reverse transcription polymerase chain
reaction (RT-PCR) testing of infected secre-
tions.
 SARS-CoV-2 attaches to cells using its spike
protein. This protein binds to the ACE2 recep-
tor, a molecule that sits on the surface of hu-
man cells. After binding to ACE2, the virus
undergoes a structural change that allows it to
fuse with the cell. Once inside, the virus is
able to reproduce.
 Disinfect items before getting it inside the
house.
 Wear a surgical mask or N95 mask for
better protection from COVID -19, a
mask reduces your infection rate to almost
70%.
 Maintain 2 meters of physical distance
from people around you.
 Do not go into a confined spaces with
poor ventilation.
 Wear a face shield along with face mask
for better protection.
 Do not touch unsanitized objects.
 Do not touch your nose, ears, eyes or
mouth without disinfecting your hand
first.
 Get your temperature check daily.
 Boost your immune system by taking vit-
amins, getting enough exercise and sleep
everyday, and eating nutritious food.
 Isolate if you are feeling sick.
WHAT TO DO WHEN
INFECTED OF COVID –19?
 Monitor for symptoms.
 Infected individual should be isolated in
a quarantine facility.
 Begin contact tracing for its close con-
tacts after RT-PCR test confirmation.
 Seek medical advise if symptoms/illness
worsens.
 Eat healthy and nutritious food in order
for your body to be stronger in fighting
the disease.
