Literary law and liberty

According to Tagore, law is the first step towards liberty. The beauty of a poem is bound by strict law
and beauty of a work stands on the pedestal of law and it gives a complete liberation of the artist's
genius.

Synthesis between literary law and liberty achieved through vyanjana - suggestion - extraordinary
significative power which all works of art possess. Ordinary sentence has some artistic element in it,
that is the result of the inherent artistic capacity that every intelligent being possesses. This idea is
developed by Jesperson in "The Philosophy of Grammar."
