The researcher have been employed as a consultant for
the hospitality business company who is planning to
establish five star property at chandragiri, Kathmandu
where as per the consultant responsibility are :
1.To help them understand the type of accommodation
services available
2.To present the trends and technologies for the sector.
3.To examine the impact they have on the different
functions, services and guest provisions.
1.Introduction of hospitality industry
The hospitality industry is a huge and famous industry in this world, and there are multiple
areas in this industry. This industry is specialized by training. This gigantic sector includes
tourism and tour, traditional hospitality industry such as resorts and hotels, motel and a range
of other hospitality services. ( Johnston, 2010). Because of this industry is famous so there is
several advantages in this industry.

Neighborliness is the connection among visitor and have, or the demonstration or practice of
being cordial. In particular, this incorporates the gathering and diversion of visitors, guests, or
outsiders, resorts, participation clubs, shows, attractions, exceptional occasions, and different
administrations for explorers and vacationers. Inn, inns, motels, or such organizations that gives

guests. It focuses on meetings the most basic needs of guest providing clean, comfortable and
inexpensive rooms. Also known as economy or limited services hotels, they appeal primarily to
budget-minded travellers and groups. " Budget hotels appeal primarily to budget-minded
travellers who want a room with minimum services and amenities required for the comfortable
stay, without unnecessary paying additional cost for costly services.

Classification of hotel on the basis of size:

1.Small hotel: Hotel with 100 rooms and less may be termed as small hotels.

2.Medium size hotels : Hotels which have 100-300 rooms is know as medium sized hotel.

3.Large hotels : Hotels which have more than 300 rooms are termed as large hotels.

4.Mega hotels: are those hotels with more than 1000 rooms .

The above categories enable hotels of similar size to compare operating procedures and
statistical results.

3.Different forms of ownership applicable to
accommodation services.
There are four basic types of hotel ownership and management: franchise, privately owned and
operated, leased and managed. A franchise operation is privately owned, but the owner pays
an up-front fee to purchase the franchise along with ongoing royalties. A privately owned and
operated hotel may have investors or others with a financial interest in the hotel, but the
ownership structure is in one person or company’s name. Leased hotels are owned by an
individual or company, but normally lease the physical building. A managed hotel is also
privately owned, but has signed an agreement with another hotel brand to run the hotel

This type of hotel ownership gives an owner the most freedom, but also the biggest risk. The
hotel owner is free to make all decisions on staff, operational structure and growth, but does
not have the benefit of a brand behind him. All marketing research and efforts must be built
from the ground up.

3.Leased:

Leased hotels are also privately owned, but the physical hotel building belongs to someone
else. These types of arrangements are generally on long-term leases. The lessor will stipulate a
minimum rent for the premises, and may also include a sliding scale based on total revenue for
ongoing rent.

4.Managed:

While the trend for new hotels is to open as franchises, existing hotels quite frequently go
the managed route. This is where an existing privately owned hotel partners with a recognized
brand name or smaller, more experienced hotel. The hotel continues to be privately owned, but
the managing hotel takes over the day-to-day operations of the business and quite frequently
lends its brand name as well. The managing hotel charges royalties based on total revenues.
