I would like to express deep gratitude to the following

persons for helping me in my practicum.

First, I would like to thank Mrs. Maricar Bien for

instructing and helping me find an organization where I can work

for. Thank you mam.

Second, I would like to thank my friends and most especially

my family for their financial and moral support. I will not be

succesful in my practicum program without them.

Inc. for giving me the opportunity to know and experience being a

student trainee in their office.

Executive Summary

This manual will present the company profile, findings,

analysis and recommendation, my personal learnings, documentation

of our works during the training, experiences, and the

bibliography.

Being a part of the practicum program help us learned and

experienced what jobs you we must expect, the attitude of the

people you are going to meet, the working environment and

experiences we are going to encounter the moment we graduated.

One thing that I've learned in this program is to never give up,

time will come that you are about to quit because you are tired

but the key is to work with dedication and perseverance and one

step at a time you will achieve your goals.

This practicum program had given me a lot of wonderful and

tiresome experiences in the company, for it challenged me every

single day inside the office. They taught us different office

work like sorting, checking the invoice and packing the products.

We thought it is easy but once we started doing this work like

finding the sales invoice and arranging it to numerical or

alphabetically, it is mind bugling, but at the end of the day we

end up accomplishing our task right.


CHAPTER I

Introduction

In all higher education courses, all students must undergo a

practicum program as a requirement for their subject before they

graduated it is a preparation for them before they face the

reality and work for their career goals. One of the requirements

in a higher education course is for the student to develop

interconnecting their relationship between a student trainee and

being an employee.

This practicum report is a proof that the graduating

students undergone a specific training in their chosen company.

It’s the best experience for the students to face the

responsibilities and duties of being an employee in this

training. This practicum program is a useful tool for newly

graduated students to promote their self-actualization about

their job in the future and the training of the graduating

college student helps them to learn a lot of strategies,

experience and knowledge while they are doing their training.

B. Mission, Vision, and General Philosophy

Mission

SCPA’s mission is to expand our product categories and to

engage our customers towards health, hygiene and sustainability.

Vision

Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. is imbued with the vision to

provide hygienic and good quality tissue products at the lowest

cost possible.

General Philosophy

Driven by our love for what we do and the people we do it for,

SCPA’s purpose is to be the better, hygienic choice in all our

personal products.
C. Ownership/ Management

After obtaining a degree in chemical engineering and

graduating magna cum laude from Adamson University,

Renato Sio began his career with Andres Soriano’s Paper

Industries Corporation of the Philippines (PICOP) in Bislig,

Surigao del Sur as a management trainee and rose to being

PICOP’s vice president of operations. After his 15-year

stint in PICOP, he joined Bataan Pulp and Paper in the 1980s

and was part of the team that built Trust International

paper Company (TIPCO)in Pampanga in the early 1990s. His

foray into business was triggered by an advanced management

course at the University of Hawaii, which radically changed

his business perspective. In 1996, Mr. Sio started Sanitary

Care Products Asia Inc., with a dream to provide quality

tissue paper products in the market while also providing

jobs to Filipinos.

The business is headed my Ma. Azalea Pacis, the unit head

in SCPA Naga Branch is Ms. Hilda Flores, she handles her

employees, namely; key accounts specialist, territory sales

specialists, Institutional Sales Specialists, Billing-in-charge,

Warehouse-in-charge and Credit and Collection

E. Facilities

The office and Equipment of SCPA is not that much it

only includes computers and printers, it is a set of machine that

is able to use in billing and making sales order of the customer

and most especially a printer for their printing works. This is

also what they are using to take information, and to monitor

other resources of the company.

The warehouse and Equipment of SCPA only includes delivery trucks

and jack lift, delivery trucks are vehicles suitable for

delivering goods or services to customers, and the jack lift is a

mechanical device used as a lifting device to lift heavy loads or


to apply great forces, it is used in warehouse to make them easy

to get heavy loads.

F. Outstanding characteristics of the establishment

The company’s strength comes from their manpower, unity and

their faith in Almight Father. Their workers are dedicated on

their job, they are willing to extend their working hours to

ensure that all task will be accomplished on time and that

delivery will not be delayed because of their paper works. They

respect each other, they work as a team and has a good

communication. Each individual has expertise upon their works.

For me this is what helped the company develop and maintain at

the top.

G.Discussion of Tasks Performed

SCPA has lots of different office work but they let us

concentrate on doing sorting receipts based on their serial

invoice no, by agents, by delivery dates. They also let me

experience billing a costumer in their office and compiling

receipts that has same serial invoice number and delivery receipt

number. They also let us put an address on the billing receipts

based on the serial invoice number. Those are the task that SCPA

let us experience and accomplish during the duration of our

practicum program.
CHAPTER II

DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS / ANALYSIS / RECOMMENDATION

A. Areas of Concern: Status and Analysis

Department: Distribution

1. Organizational Structure

SCPA Bicol Branch is headed by a Business Unit Head (Ms.

Hilda S. Flores). She is responsible in managing the Key Account

Specialist, Institutional Agent, Billing Officer, Credit and

Collection Officer, Sales Coordinator, Merchandisers, Truck

Drivers and the warehouseman. Mam Hilda is an effective and

efficient manager, she is very hands-on, she always checked on

her worker's perfomance inside and outside of her office. She

checked on the quality of the products that is being delivered on

their hardware. She is a very kind and patient woman that loves

smiling while giving instruction on us. She ensure that

everything in her vicinity works perfectly.

2. Operations System and Procedure

In sales, most involved are the Key account Specialist,

Institutional Agent and Merchandisers. Merchandisers are


responsible for displaying the items inside the store (SCPA

client e.g. LCC Supermarket) and also responsible for inventory

to be submitted to his/her Key Account Specialist or

Institutional Agent to make P.O (Purchase Order) to the client.

3. Facilities, Equipment, and etc.

Since SCPA Bicol is not a production site, the incorporation

only has a very big warehouse which contains different products

of the company to supply different clients here in Bicol Region.

This is very useful because when a certain client requests for an

order, the incorporation can just deliver it to them immediately.

4. Manpower-scheduling, work method, styles of communication

SCPA opens at 7 am to 5pm, from Monday to Saturday, the

time of their working hours is different from the Government

working hours, the salesman and other delivery team starts from 7

am because they need to be in a hurry to come back early in the

afternoon so that the other employees in the office makes their

responsibility to the customers. The other employees inside the

office starts at 8 am, checking the stocks, doing the credit memo

or the sales return to the customer of the company, encoding

sales invoice/ manual invoice in the system and auditing the

stock or reconciling, and in the afternoon when the salesman

returns, they encode sales order and loadings for the load of the

delivery.

5. Work Atmosphere

The working environment in SCPA is so warm and friendly,

individual workers in this company always give us a smile. They

are instructing us in a very calming voice and they widen their

patience on us even though we commit mistakes on the task they

are letting us to accomplish. They greet us whenever they saw us


and they are very approachable. We never felt awkward working

with them.

6. Use of Raw Materials

The SCPA here in Bicol is not the one who produce the

product, they order it from the main production. The main

material used in making of the products are eucalyptus tree which

are imported from different countries.

7. Sanitation Procedures / Practices

Each employee of SCPA observes good sanitation and

cleanliness of their surroundings. They maintain and respect

their respective working area by cleaning it after they are done

with their tasks. They don't hire a janitor because they are

aware that they should be responsible for the mess they have done

and they are all well mannered because the facility of SCPA is

always clean and safe.

B. Strengths and Areas of Improvement

1. Organizational Structure

Every employee and workers at SCPA are all hardworking. They

achieve their targeted quotas every year. They are all

responsible for the accomplishments that the company make. A

thing to improve in their organization is the lack of manpower

inside the warehouse of the SCPA. We can only see few people

carrying loads of boxes and putting it inside the trucks for

delivery. They should alot more men in the warehouse for easy

loading and delivery of the goods.

2. Operation System and Procedure

They work as a team, they are all hardworking and persevere

on their job. I see motivation in each employee because they are

willing to extend their working hours just to accomplished their


task and ensure that other's work will not be delayed because of

they. They also maintain good communication, they respect each

other's opinion and work hard for the betterment of SCPA.

3. Facilities and Equipment

the hardware and office of SCPA is not that big but in my

observation they have all the needed facilities and equipment to

use in the company. They accomplished their task on time because

their facilities and equipment are working well and does not

cause any delay on their performance.

4. Manpower-scheduling and Work Method

SCPA has a strong workforce. They employees are committed on

their job and I observe that they are always present. They full

force upon doing their individual task and duties. They work

together and communicate well. They ensure that each individual

performed they task well because a delay on one's job will affect

the performance the other's job.

5. Work Atmosphere

Working inside the office feels so comfortable, because of

the environment of the workplace and the people surrounding you.

They have a very healthy work atmosphere, most of the employees

always wear a smile and approachable

6. Use of raw materials

They use their materials properly and well efficiently. They are

not wasting materials and ensure to use the whole benefit of it

before they dispose it.

7. Sanitation Procedures / Practices

They maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings. They

are implementing waste segregation and they are disposing in a


proper place always. They have hand sanitizers in their working

area. Sometimes they forget to tidy things up inside the office.

C . Conclusion and Recommendation on (B)

Conclusion

This practicum program had given me a lot of experiences and

knowledge that I will never forget and will surely be applied in

my real life the moment I graduated. SCPA helped me learned more

that working in an organization wherein you are going to perform

to office works are never been easy. Before, I thought working in

office is easier because I observed that just keep on commanding

but now my perception was changed.

I am really thankful that SCPA Naga welcomed me to be a part

of their organization and gave me a great opportunity to gain

more knowledge on what I will do and what I must do when I get my

first real job. Those learnings and knowledge are big help for me

in achieving my goals and career in the future.

Recommendation

This program can be improved by deploying On-the-job

trainees more earlier in order for the trainees to finish their

training ahead of time.

D .Narrative Report on Self-Evaluation and Evaluation for

Supervisor

In my 1 month job experienced in SCPA I've learned a lot not

just in the organization but also in my self, I learned to be

more patience. I learned that a task should be accomplished first

before doing anything that is not neccessary so that I can rest

after. I learned that time is faster when you are being

productive. I learned to socialize with others and communicate

well so I can help them and likewise. I learned to speak for what
I believe is right and follow instructions. I learned to accept

my mistakes and improve myself from learning on it. I will never

learn all of it if it is not because of SCPA.

CHAPTER III

Conclusion and Recommendation

In my experience in working in SCPA I can say that I

performed well and I am satisfied with my jobs and

accomplishment. Working in this organization and performing task

I am not used to do is never easy, there comes a day when I am

about to quit because I am so tired and school requirements

awaits me also but all my learnings here is a stepping stone

towards my goals so I worked harder for it. Communication,

discipline, trust, teamwork and God's faith are the factors that

will help your organization grow because this is what SCPA has. I

learned that an organization should not be that strict because if

your workers are committed they do right even you don't mention

it.

I believe that this organization is good so my only

recommendation is that employees should instruct clearly and with

examples for the task they are requiring to comply so their

future practicum workers will commit less mistake and that they

should be more patient.
