AUTHENTIC LEARNING THROUGH INQUIRY

Learning is a lifelong process, where the learners can still acquire and design
information from their own experiences.
The above statement is my understanding of what authentic learning is, also known
as “learning by experiences.” It is hard to taste the fruit of authentic learning if we,
as teachers and educators, are exclusively teaching and feeding the students inside
a four-corner classroom. Inside the classroom, where teachers are leading, feeding,
and managing students’ ideas. However, how about their own ideas? What will
happen if the children have their inquiries, but only the teacher’s plan and actions
are the only key factors to learning? We are closing the door of opportunity for
these learners to search for the answer in their own creative and best ways.
In this sense, we are providing the learners the opportunity to:

 create ways for learning
 solve problems with critical thinking
 design the process of learning skills
 express their feelings
 enjoy what they want and love to learn
