AT A glance
This one-year foundation in interior design qualification will offer students a

chance to develop critical, independent thinking and practical ability to

learn different subjects and pathways, helping them to determine which area

of the industry they would like to focus on and provide better guidance on

their further academic or future career choices. 

Students will learn how to approach new difficulties that will improve their

creative thinking, develop the necessary skills and help them to distinguish

where their true passion lies. 

Moreover, students will form a strong foundation in this subject, experience

the holistic approach to learning and fulfil the requirement to effectively

advance onto one of the full-time interior or design undergraduate

programs.

QUALIFICATION PURPOSE AND

HIGHLIGHT:

The LST Level 4 Interior Design qualification is designed to provide

students with the skills and learning that will help them identify and

develop their future progression in the industry. The skills developed

through this qualification may also support students directly into

employment in the various creative industries.

This qualification is designed to provide students with an overview of the

creative industry. This qualification will provide students with an

opportunity to expand and improve their practical skills levels while also

defining their interests and area of expertise. It will establish a range of

creative approaches to learning used within a higher education context

and will allow students to explore the variety of resources that will

support their industry-based or educational career.

This qualification will give students the opportunity to engage with a full

spectrum of design skills, including technical and professional skills. The

qualification will teach students how to consider design practice within

the global context of social, economic and ecological sustainability. The

students will learn through project-based learning to develop skills to

articulate design ideas and solutions. They will gain a critical

understanding of the historical, social and cultural contexts of interior

practices and have access to workshops and guest speakers.

This qualification is not time-constrained, but will typically be completed

over a 12-month period full time.

Build a professional portfolio while working on creative projects.

QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHT:

recorded so the students can access them anytime. The live sessions will

allow students to chat and get personal feedback from our expert tutor.

EXPERIENTIAL OUTCOME

London School of trends will offer unique placement opportunities at the

end of the course allowing students to gain hands-on experience of the

technical and theoretical concepts they have learnt and have the

advantage to focus on their area of specialisation. Students will also have

the opportunity to Intern with us at London Fashion Week.

PERSONALISED LEARNING
Enjoy a personalised, people-mediated online experience that aims to

approach learning based on each student's strengths, needs, skills and

interests. Specific interventions that will help the students identify their

development areas, their career goals and respect for values & ethics of the

profession.

QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION

This one-year Interior Design programme is at Level 4, which is the

equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor’s Degree programme. Our Level 4

course is made up of 4 units, which are equivalent to 120 level 4 credits,

which could mean potential entry into Undergraduate courses at university 

globally. In the case of exceptional students the possibility of being

accepted into a second year. 

A UK awarding body awards our qualifications under the ECAS scheme

approved by SQA Accreditation, one of the national qualification regulators

in the United Kingdom which is accepted globally.

On completion of your course, students will also receive a certified diploma

from LST, accredited by the British Accreditation Council. At this point

students will have reached the necessary level of academic preparation to

apply for a BA (Hons) Degree, Three Year Course. 

Students will also  have the opportunity to develop their portfolios in London

and attend the LST Certification Ceremony at House of Commons in London.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

RECOMMENDED ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Students should be a minimum of 17 years of age.

United Kingdom:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C (9-4 on the new grading system) and

level 3 qualifications, including A levels, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, or a BTEC

National. Some will expect or require applicants to have subjects

related to the particular apprenticeship.

India:
Successful completion of the Standard 10+1 with 70% or above or

Standard 10+2 at 55% or above, minimum 50% in relevant subjects

such as Maths and Sciences

Rest of the world:


International students are expected to demonstrate that they have a

good level of written and spoken English with a recommended

minimum IELTS (or equivalent) score of 5.0 or submit their English

subject test scores.

Students without the above qualifications may be considered based

on APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) You will be

required to submit a portfolio and be interviewed.

Students completing the LST Level 4 Diploma in Interior Design will have the knowledge and
skills needed to advance to:

Higher education - the qualification will support students to build their portfolio, which will allow them

to advance to higher education courses. 

Further/conservatoire training - the qualification will support students to build their portfolio, which will

allow them to advance to conservatoire courses.

Employment/self-employment - students finishing this qualification may advance directly into

employment or start independent work within these creative industries.

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE

The title provides a concise summary of the content of the

Guided Learning Hours Guided learning time represents the hours that students are being taught or
(GLH) instructed by or otherwise participating in education or training under the

immediate guidance or supervision of  a lecturer, supervisor, tutor or another

hours being assessed if the assessment takes place under the immediate

Total Qualification estimate of the number of time students will be required to undertake in

Our units will be delivered through a blended learning approach of online lectures, seminars and practical

workshops. Students will be expected to participate in discussions, presentations and educational visits actively.

Students will be expected to engage in a range of self-directed learning activities. They will be encouraged to

adopt an open-minded approach to their studies while reflecting on their practice.

Listed below are the detailed modules that students will
learn over the one-year course.

1) GETTING STARTED; COLOUR THERAPY & LEARNING TO DRAW TO


SCALE.
This unit aims to enable the learners to develop an understanding of how to use the equipment which will help

them in completing the projects. Learners will explore and research colour therapy and learning to draw to scale by

a variety of methods of instruction. Learners will develop skills through hands-on-activities, quizzes, projects,

teamwork and research, enabling them to meet the needs of the unit.

2) DEVELOPING ROOM BY ROOM DESIGNS PART I

This unit aims to enable the learners to develop an understanding of the history of design and how we incorporate

into today's' designs, which will help them in understanding and completing the projects. Learners will explore and

research different spaces of a ground floor and learning to understand the principles of design by a variety of

methods of instruction. Learners will research skills, analyse and evaluate relevant information as part of their

creative practice.

3) DEVELOPING ROOM BY ROOM


DESIGNS PART II

This unit aims to enable the learners to develop an understanding

of how buildings can be structurally altered and how to

incorporate new designs, which will help them in understanding

and completing the projects. Students will explore and research

different spaces of a first floor and learning to understand the

principles of design by a variety of methods of instruction.

Students will demonstrate awareness of the different

perspectives, approaches and ethics within diverse creative

practice.

4) FINAL PROJECT AND PRESENTATION

This unit aims to enable the learners to use what they have learnt

from previous units to complete a project of their own. Students

will explore and research a chosen space of a house and

complete the unit through, a project presentation and research

enabling them to meet the needs of the unit. Students will learn

to take responsibility for research, planning and time

management to access and action progression opportunities.

Also effectively communicate and present ideas and creative

practice to appropriate audiences.
