mile. The Great Indian Trading Path ran
through this area along present-day Snow
Hill Road (S.R. 1631), St. Mary’s Street and
Mason Drive (S.R. 1992). The path was a
famous Piedmont fur and deerskin trading
route that began in 1670 and was used by
European explorers, hunters and settlers.
