A. Broad Goal:
Students will be able to learn to work as a team, compete and achieve a common
goal through racing in relays.

B. Objectives:
1. Given very specific instructions, students will be able to stop talking and listen
and look at the teacher when the whistle is blown with 100% accuracy.
2. Given instructions, students will wait for their turn in line while the rest of their
team is competing. Students will participate with 100% accuracy.
3. Given instructions, students will participate in the relay activity with 100%
accuracy.

Procedures (30 minutes total)

1. (5 min.) Students will come into the gymnasium and will be instructed to sit on

the sideline and wait for instructions. Instructions will be given and groups will be

made. We will be counting off the students in groups in order to make equal

teams to do the relays.

2. (20 min.) Students will participate in relays that have to do with the Christmas

theme. They will have to “walk like Santa” and say HO-HO-HO, walk like

reindeer, run like it is cold outside, and army crawl like they were Santa trying to

get down the chimney. *checklist for participation*

3. (5 min.) End of game and cool down and release.
