GREETING Rev. Greg Gibson

OPENING VOLUNTARY What Wondrous Love Is This arr. John Carter

Scott Montgomery, organ

* CALL TO WORSHIP Dr. Steve Pulliam

Pastor: The day of the Lord is coming! The day of the Lord is near!
All: The time is fulfilled! The reign of God is at hand!
Pastor: O people, repent! Believe in the gospel!
All: Come, let us turn and follow the Lord!

* OPENING HYMN 422 Jesus, Thine All-Victorious Lord AZMON

1. Jesus, thine all-victorious love shed in my heart abroad;
then shall my feet no longer rove, rooted and fixed in God.
2. O that in me the sacred fire might now begin to glow;
burn up the dross of base desire and make the mountains flow!
3. O that it now from heaven might fall and all my sins consume!
Come, Holy Ghost, for thee I call, Spirit of burning, come!
4. Refining fire, go through my heart, illuminate my soul;
scatter thy life through every part and sanctify the whole.

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

* GLORIA PATRI 70 MEINEKE

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen. Amen.

CALL TO CONFESSION (based on 1 Peter 2:24, NIV) Dr. Steve Pulliam

Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the tree
that we might die to sin and live for righteousness.
By his wounds we are healed.
Let us confess our sins.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of compassion and reconciliation, you are slow to anger and full of mercy,
welcoming sinners who return to you with penitent hearts.
Receive in your loving embrace all who come home to you.
Seat them at your bountiful table of grace, that, with all your children,
they may feast with delight on all that satisfies the hungry heart.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, who lives and reigns with you
in unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
PASTORAL PRAYER

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

RECONCILIATION

* CLOSING HYMN 298 When I Survey the Wondrous Cross HAMBURG

1. When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.
2. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the death of Christ, my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.
3. Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT
Central Student Ministries has been completely snowed in these last few weeks! In hopes of staying connected
with students and encouraging growth in their relationship with Christ we have rolled out some 40 day devotional
booklets. These are geared towards the season of Lent. Our students are able to invest in their own personal
relationship with Christ, share with their small groups, and apply this new understanding of Lent in their lives.
We are grateful for the support that CSM has through the Central Family. We hope to continue to challenge our
students to grow in their faith, even if there's a blizzard outside.
