The contents of the course include:
(1) Introduction
(2) Fundamentals of vibration
(3) Stress wave propagation
(4) Introduction of seismology and earthquake
Course Description
(5) Applications of stress wave propagation and seismic survey
(6) Isolation of surface wave
(7) Dynamic soil behavior
(8) Soil liquefaction
(9) Introduction of vibrations of foundations
The objective of this course is to introduce the basic concept of soil
behavior and response when subjected to dynamic loadings such as
earthquake and machine foundation. The fundamental theories of
Course Objective
vibration and wave propagation are introduced. The measurements of
dynamic soil properties and dynamic soil behaviors are then
discussed. Accordingly, methods for analysis of dynamic
geotechnical topics including soil liquefaction and vibrations of
foundations are illustrated.
