Herman Ebbinghaus was the first to experimentally investigate the properties of

human memory. He assumed that the process of committing something to memory,
involved the formation of new associations which would be strengthened through
repetition.

Introduction:
Memory is very essential part of our life. Memory plays an important part in our life. Because
we can store our thoughts in our memory. So later on we can memorize those thoughts. So
we can enjoy again passed events through the memory. Through memory we can refresh our
ideas and thoughts. We can re-using our past experiences. Memory helps ensure that it is
dynamic, subjective, intelligent, reflection of our past experiences. Human memory includes
3 main process. Memory is about learning.
Procedure:
I started my experiment at 2pm and I ended up at 3pm. I wrote list A on paper so after writing
list A on the paper I remember list A from top to bottom it took 45 minutes to memorize it.
Then I wrote it on paper for 20 times then I took a break during this experiment. Then I
moved to list B. so I wrote list B on the paper for 5 times and I learn it 5 times. And
memorize it from top to bottom. It took 10 minutes to memorize it. I wrote it 6 times on paper
and remember trial was 6.

Was there any time difference between recalling both of the lists?
Yes there is a lot of time difference between both lists (A&B). I’ve spent more time on list A
than the list B.

What is the effect of repetition in memorizing the lists?

So during the repetition of both lists I found difficulty while I was learning list A than instead
of list B. list A was too difficult to memorize it took so much time to memorize instead of list
A. list A was very easy to memorize.

Which strategies have helped you the most in enhancing your memory?
Writing and learning.
