Write an essay on any ONE of the two questions. Try to keep your word count

1. Death of a Salesman is a multi-layered social commentary. - Write an
in-depth essay on why you agree or disagree with the statement.
2. What flaws in the character portrayal of Willy Loman make Death of a
Salesman a tragedy? Elaborate.

Death of a Salesman a tragedy
Willy Loman are the main character of the play “Death of a Salesman” by Arthur
Miller. In this play Willy Loman is a person who is a salesman in a company and he
used to think about his dream. He is a middle-class salesman he lives in a house with
his wife Linda Loman and his two son Biff and Happy.
Willy is thought that one day he will be a big businessman and he will get the
recognition in America. He thinks his older son who is looks so good and famous in
his school and a good player he can full fill his dream. That’s why willy is so focused
on Biff. Willy also betray with Linda Loman; he has an affair with another women.
All this thing getting frustrated willy. But he can’t full fill his dream and he suffer
from false vision. When willy is getting old, he realizes that he is far away from his
dream and he think that how his family will recover from all this disaster. He has a
insurance in a bank and if he die in a accident his family will get the money and his
two son can start a business with this and they also can pay their borrowed money. He
tried so many times to do accident and getting some injuries. His wife Linda Loman
know all this about willy and she call her two son and told them they are getting so
sad. And they told his father they will try something to do. They tried once again to
turn back but they didn’t get any kind of help from anywhere and willy also getting
out. Willy didn’t get respect from Biff and happy. And after that Willy get his false
vision and he talk with his brother who was a famous business man. His brother Ben
suggest him to do accident. After that his family will get the money from the
insurance company, they will lead there life haply. After that moment willy tried to do
accident and once, he got success. After his family got money from insurance and
they pay their borrowed money.
And a salesman journey stops there.
All this thing made that “Death of a Salesman” is not a tragedy. Because in tragedy
main role are getting so pride of his wealth but here willy couldn’t be a great man. In
the story willy think himself a great in his dream but we know fell sorry for him
because
He can’t be great in real life.

 Linda Loman is nothing more than just a suburban homemaker. Do

you agree or disagree? Write a short note of minimum 150 words.
Ans: Linda Loman is the character of Death of Salesman written by Arthur Miller.
She is the wife of Willy Loman. She is nothing more than just a suburban
homemaker and I agree with it. Because she always works in home, she doesn’t do
any work outside and also, she didn’t give any decision to her husband. But she is
very clear about her husband and her sons. She knows what is going on the mind
of Willy Loman. And when she has to choose one over her son and husband, she
chose Willy and give told his son biff if you can’t bear him than you also lost me.
But Linda Loman can’t convince her husband this is the reason that Willy do
accident. And willy also betray her and she didn’t make any step against it. After
all the words. We can say that Linda Loman is nothing more than just a suburban
homemaker.
