Every market offering includes a basic idea. Products and services are
used as platforms for delivering some idea or benefit. Social marketers
widely promote ideas.

For example:

1. Cigarette smoking causes most cases of lung cancer. There is clear evidence
that tobacco package health warnings increase consumers’ knowledge about the
health consequences of tobacco use. Smoking severely harms you and the people
around you.
