Homework:

Research one application of springs. Inside mattresses.

Why is the elastic behaviour used? For comfort in bed so that the material will
bend around you body weight best supporting you and your sleeping position.

How is it controlled? How tightly coiled or loose the springs were made would
change how much give was created so there is something for everyone people
that like firmer beds would have tighter coiled springs because they need more
tension to stretch.

How are problems avoided? Making sure the material around the springs were
thick enough so they wouldn't poke through and hurt anyone. And could last a
long time.
