ICMA Pakistan's 55th Annual General Meeting

held at Head Office, Karachi

ICMA Pakistan's 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Saturday,
January 30, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Head Office, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi under the
chairmanship of Mr. Zia ul Mustafa, President ICMA Pakistan. The AGM was
attended by the office-bearers viz. Mr. Abdul Wasey Khan, Vice President, Mr.
Shehzad Ahmed Malik, Honorary Secretary; Mr. Muhammad Yasin, Honorary
Treasurer and Council Members viz.
Mr. Ghulam Mustafa and Mr. Ather
Saleem Ch. The AGM was largely
attended by the members,
physically at Karachi, as well through
video-link connectivity from other ICMA Pakistan Campuses at Lahore,
Islamabad, Multan and Faisalabad.
The draft minutes of the 54th AGM held on March 01, 2020 were confirmed and
the Report of the Council and the Accounts of the Institute for the year ended
June 30, 2020 and the Auditors' Report thereon were adopted and approved.

Glimpses of the Election Day

Inauguration of ICMA World Broadcast Studio

at Head Office Karachi
Mr. Zia ul Mustafa, President ICMA Pakistan
inaugurated the ICMA World Broadcast Studio at
Head Office Karachi. The ceremony was arranged by
the Karachi Branch Council (KBC) of ICMA Pakistan.
Those prominent at the inauguration ceremony
were Mr. Shehzad Ahmed Malik, Honorary
Secretary; Mr. Azeem Ahmed Siddiqui, Chairman
KBC; Mr. Jawed Mansha, former NC member ICMA
Pakistan; Mr. Shaham Ahmed, newly elected
member to the Council 2021-23 and Mr. Aamir Ijaz
Khan, Executive Director, ICMA Pakistan. The
ceremony was also attended by members, faculty
and staff of the Institute.
The Broadcast Studio would be utilized for activities
as per defined SOPs; for broadcast and recording of
online coaching classes to cater to students from
overseas markets and accommodating the
Government's directives on online classes.

Inauguration of Upgraded Computer Centre and

Business Incubation Centre at Lahore Campus
The Lahore Branch Council (LBC) organized the Inauguration
ceremony of Upgraded Computer Labs and Business
Incubation Center for members aspiring to become
entrepreneurs at the Lahore Campus. Mr. Muhammad Yasin,
Honorary Treasurer, ICMA Pakistan was the Chief Guest
whereas Mr. Awais Yasin, Chairman LBC was the guest of
honour. Mr. Abdul Razzaq, FCMA, Secretary LBC were also
present in the session.
Mr. Muhammad Yasin, in his inaugural speech, said that
computer has made inroads in every walk of life and there is a
strong need to keep upgrading the computer facilities for
updating. He said that ICMA Pakistan is upgrading its

computer facilities after 2012 with 30 Laptops and 40 desktops

placed for the benefit of members and students. He
congratulated the National Council of the Institute for taking
this important decision.
On Business Incubation Centre, Mr. Yasin stated that it would
play a highly productive role in start-up of business entities and
can help the members to channelize their professional
knowledge into tangible revenue generating business models.
Mr. Awais Yasin also expressed his views and motivated the
members to enroll in the incubation centre and become
entrepreneurs in the long run. The concluding remarks were
delivered by Mr. Abdul Razzaq, Secretary LBC.

Saleem Ch., Chairman CPD Committee was the Chief Guest in the valedictory session. Mr. Zaid Kaliya, Chief Financial Officer at
Shield Pakistan was the lead Speaker who made a comprehensive presentation and highlighted the use of powerful language,
gestures and vocal variety that move people to action and increases the influence and persuasion of message.

Orientation Session - Diploma in BPO Batch 2

The CPD committee of the National Council in
collaboration with Venture Force Global organized an
Orientation Session on Diploma in BPO (Batch 2) on
January 13, 2021.
Pakistan has opportunities in the BPO industry due to
its low cost of services and the talent hub of a large
number of graduates per year. Realizing this
opportunity ICMA Pakistan and VentureForce Global have joined hands to provide skills and knowledge required for growth of
BPO industry in Pakistan. 2nd Batch of the Diploma in BPO has commenced from 30th January, 2021.

Webinar on Power Query Data Prep Done Smart,

Fast, Easy by KSA Branch Council
The KSA Branch Council in collaboration with National CPD Committee organized a
Webinar on 'Power Query Data Prep Done Smart, Fast, Easy' on January 10, 2021.
The trainer was Mr. Asif Hafeez, he discussed Using power query editor; The query
Ribbon; The query setting pane; Saving your work etc. Mr. Ather Saleem Ch.,
Chairman CPD Committee was the Chief Guest in the valedictory session.

Examination
The Institute announced the results of December 2020 Examinations [held for all eighteen (18) courses from Operational
Level-1 (OL1) to Strategic Level-2 (SL2), Practical Corporate Training Modules Examinations (PCTME) and Membership Pathway
Exam (MPE)] in 10 working days after the conclusion of OL1 to SL2 Examinations. There were 2,523 examinees [head count]
enrolled in OL1 to SL2 Examinations, 14 in PCTME and 05 in MPE. While, the following students achieved the Institute's
proficiency awards in PCTME, December 2020:

During the month, the examinees were got enrolled for Institute's forthcoming February 2021 Examinations [for all eighteen
(18) courses from Operational Level-1 to Strategic Level-2 and Local Laws Gateway Examination (LLG)], which are scheduled to
be held from February 13, 2021, under Study Scheme-2018. The examinations are proposed to be conducted at Karachi, Lahore,
Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Quetta and outside Pakistan [through Remote Access].

Examination Department held an Interactive Facebook Session with Students

The Officials of the Examination Department also participated in an 'Interactive Facebook Session with Students', held on
January 30, 2021, with the intention to identify weak areas of study, give exams guidelines and to provide instant feedback
through a Live Question-Answer Session with regard to December 2020 Examinations results.

Nov-Dec 2020 Issue of Management Accountant Journal

on the theme of 'Cost Audit and Consumer Protection'

The Nov-Dec 2020 issue of Management Accountant Journal was released by the Research and
Publications Department. This issue was on the theme of 'Cost Audit and Consumer
Protection'. The Salient Feature of this issue was an 'Exclusive Interview' of Mr. Aamir Khan,
Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in addition to eleven
insightful articles contributed by the members of the institute. The issue is available on link:

Authors' Directory 2020

The Research and Publications Department issued the 'Authors' Directory 2020 which covers
the brief details of those writers whose articles were published in the six issues of the
Management Accountant Journal during the year 2020.

In the six issues released in 2020, 33 members of ICMA Pakistan contributed 53 articles; out
of which 22 were Fellows whereas 11 were Associate members. A notable feature of 2020
was that 16 new members of ICMA Pakistan shared their first articles in the Management
Accountant Journal. In addition, 14 experts and non-members, including professionals and
people from the academia and journalism contributed articles in the Management
Accountant Journal during the year 2020.

MA Journal Election Supplement

The Research and Publications Department published a 'Special Supplement' of the Management
Accountant Journal which provided brief profiles of the candidates contesting the 19th National
Council Election (2021-2023).

The soft copy of the Special Supplement was hosted on the website and Member area of the Institute's
website and also emailed to all the members before the elections.

MoU Signed with Dawn Group of Companies

ICMA Pakistan and Dawn Group of Companies have joined hands to collaborate and promote Professional Management

National Career Counselling Sessions

A Live Facebook Career Counseling Session was held on 7th January 2021.It was conducted by Mr. Zakir Hussain Satti, Regional
Director North and Campus Incharge Islamabad. Ms. Aiza Ahsan, Education Officer, Islamabad Campus was the moderator of
the session. The learned speaker discussed the scope of choosing this career pathway of CMA at length and the benefits to be
reaped after acquiring this degree. He answered the questions of the audience specially students comprehensively and
informed them about the exemptions which the I-COM,B-COM and M-COM students get when they enter the CMA Programme
which reduces their burden of the whole syllabi to a certain extent and helps them, in completing this corticate /degree in a
short span of time provided prepared thoroughly. It was a very informative webinar attended by a large number of audiences.
Another Live Facebook Career Counseling Session was held on January 28, 2021 which was conducted by Mr. Salman Rizvi,
Deputy Director North Nazimabad Campus, Karachi. In the absence of face-to-face career counseling due to the Covid crisis,
ICMA Pakistan is providing the students with an opportunity to interact with career counselors virtually via Facebook. It's easier
than ever for the students to get information regarding Online admissions and classes. Ms. Aiza Khan was the session moderator.

Meetings of Toastmasters
Club Islamabad
The ICMA Pakistan's Toastmasters Club continued its educational
activities through conducting four online meetings on very
interesting and attractive themes as follows:
– Conflict Management Skills
– To Stop Worrying and Start Living
– How Zero to One
– Unshakable
The senior members of the club shared their wisdoms, knowledge and experiences on these themes. These quality meetings
also attracted many guests throughout the country and they showed their willingness to become active members of the club for
improvement of their communication and leadership skills.
