Question:
Watch the video of the campaign Hashtag Like a Girl on YouTube and write in 500 words your
understanding of the advertisement/ campaign as a cultural communication. Talk about what
communication is, who the sender and the receiver are in the advert, how do you, as a reader, react to
the advertisement. How do you interpret the gestures, the actions, in short, the body movements or
“Kinesics” in the communication, do they add (underscore, affirm or contradict) the intended message?
How does the advertisement comment on the gender equation of our society? What conclusions can
you draw from it.

The last date for submission of assignments will be 8 th January 2021. Only people who submit on time
will have their assignments graded. Late submissions will not be considered. Graded assignments will be
reverted to students by 10th January 2021.
