The document provides notes for executing a reinforced concrete void slab. It outlines that the main contractor/client will prepare formwork and lay bottom reinforcement. Concrete will be poured in two layers with the first layer filling the height of I-section units. A minimum 2 hour wait is required between layers. Due to practical constraints, voids may be seen after removal of formwork but will not affect structural integrity. The main contractor/client must provide concrete strength test reports and support lower floors during pouring.

Shuttering and formwork shall be prepared by “Main Contractor / Client” as per GFC drawings of PTSG. Bottom Reinforcement laying shall be done by “Main Contractor / Client” in such a way that it does not disturb the alignment of I-Sect units. “Main Contractor / Client” shall proceed with the concrete casting up to fill a thickness equal to the height of the I-sect leg i.e. layer 1, and layer 2 casting shall be carried out after 2 hours of casting of layer 1. The concreting shall be done in 2 layers. Layer 1 concreting shall be done with 125 mm & above slump workability and properly compacted by vibrator to ensure that it reached to area below I- sects. Layer-2 concreting shall be carried out after 2 hours of casting of layer 1 with normal slump workability. Due to any practical constraint, it may happen that concrete may not reach below void units at few locations. So voids may be seen in slab after de-shuttering. But this may not affect the service & strength behavior of structure &need to be patch up with concrete mortar. For R.C.C. Void Slab, the required concrete of appropriate grade as mentioned in latest GFC issued by the “PTSG” shall be procured and poured by the “Main Contractor / Client”. The “Main Contractor / Client” shall provide 7 days & 28 days concrete strength report to the “PTSG”. Before concrete pouring at any progressive floor level, the respective lower floor (if any) shall be supported with a spacing of 1.5m c/c (Unless otherwise specified in latest GFC drawing provided by the “Main Contractor / Client”) and shall be removed only after removal of the supports from the progressive floor level after the specific time period suggested by the structural consultant of the project. If available on site, the “Client” shall provide the Tower crane facility to the “PTSG” for material & equipment lifting without any charges. Concrete pouring shall be done within 2 days from the day of completion of I-sect Unit installation, any further delay in concrete pouring is not recommended & “PTSG” will not be responsible regarding any undesirable performance of Installed I-Sect Units. Actual I-sec nos. calculation shall be considered as per GFC Drawing issued by PTSG.
