DENTAL AND MEDICAL MISSION

Almost 50 residents of Barangay San Juan, San Luis, Pampanga have availed of the free medical
and dental services conducted by Dra. Nimpha Laxamana last-------------at San Juan National
High School during the Brigada Eskwela 2019.
Dedicated to saving and making lives better for the less fortunate people in San Juan, the school
organized this yearly medical and dental mission that focuses on remote communities having
limited access to basic healthcare. The activity was in line with the Barangay Health Care
Program.
Services rendered range from medical and pediatric consultations to dental check-up and tooth
extraction. The recipients also received prescription medicines.
The activity was carried out by the Rural Health Unit department in coordination with the San
Juan barangay officials and teachers of San Juan National High School. Volunteer doctors and
dentists from San Luis and barangay San Juan happily served the patients.

ZUMBA

Human beings need food and exercise in order to stay strong and healthy. This will develop not
only the physical aspects of an individual but its also in their social.

In line with the Brigada Eskwela 2019 that aims to promote the holistic development not only
among students but to all parents and stakeholders as well, San Juan National High School
conducted the Zumba Marathon. In this activity, the participants who want to join will need to
bring a sachet of toothpaste or a toothbrush as part of their registration. The collected kits will be
distributed among students to promote their personal hygiene.

Everybody enjoyed a lot during the Zumba Marathon. Parents and teachers energetically swayed
their bodies to the beat of the music. It was indeed another successful activity.
SCHOOL UNIFORM/SUPPLIES

Being equipped with the proper tools for school is essential to academic success. However, for many
school-aged children in San Juan, education has taken a backseat due to greater family needs such as food
and utilities.

Fortunately, San Juan National High School recognizes that in order to break the cycle of poverty and
hunger, children must be prepared to learn and succeed in school. Additionally, statistics show that
children tend to learn and retain more information if they perceive themselves to be on a level playing
field with other children. Children that are academically prepared have higher self-confidence, self-worth
and pride, which in turn, results in better grades.
The School Supply/School Uniform Program serves the high school students whose families are unable to
purchase needed school supplies. Each year, SJNHS collects or purchases old uniforms, pencils,
notebooks, pens, paper, rulers and other supplies for distribution. Students receive school supplies either
directly in San Juan National High School.
