COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course deals with global/international business focusing on fundamental shift occurring in the world economy that will
respond to the issue regarding the economic performance of countries. Other issues such as national differences in political economy
and culture and the implication of these differences for ethical decision making, trends on the political economy of international trade
and investment, global monetary system, and the strategies and structures that firms adopt to compete effectively in the international
business environment. Moreover, the course introduces brief but interesting case studies that will introduce to students to critical
issues and often challenge their preconception.
The PCU/ GSBM Vision / Mission and values are integrated in the course.

COURSE OUTCOMES:
At the end of the course, the learner will:
1. Identify and describe the international business environment facing global operators.
2. Explain the role of strategy in the international context.
3. Evaluate the cross functional issues that affect the implementation of business plans.
4. Assess the importance of leadership, strategic direction and change management within the international business context.
5. Evaluate the impacts of the different political and legal systems that organizations operate within.

• Case Analysis - the case study may be individual or group depending on the size of the class
• Directed Research - a journal paper or a research paper shall be made individually or in group as final exam
