Character Evaluation

The selected novel for this writing is "To Kill a Mockingbird," written by Harper Lee,

published in 1960; the novel attained high popularity across the world. The primary character

in the novel is Atticus Finch. In Maycomb City, Atticus Finch is a lawyer and Jem and Scout

Finch's father. He lives with grace, modesty, bravery, and fairness. Atticus is very

compassionate. In his friends' lives, he is a very significant role model. He remains true to his

convictions and conscience, and he is a lovable dad and an experienced prosecutor.

His dignity is one of Atticus' most prevalent characteristics. Atticus still holds faithful

to his principles, ideals, and convictions, even though they are beyond societal values. In his

residence, as he is on the public roads, Atticus is "the same." The best indication of his

honesty is the determination with which he follows up the issue of Tom Robinson. He does

his hardest to claim that Tom is innocent, even though everyone mocks him. When people

asked Atticus why he favors Tom whenever the remainder of Maycomb seems to be against

him, he replies, "The morality of an individual is the only element that does not agree with

the common law." Atticus is respectful, kind, and nobleman. Even with the disagreeable

people, he rarely tends to forget his approach. With reverence, he addresses each individual

in terms such as 'sir' and 'ma'am.' When Atticus meets Mrs. Dubose accordingly, Scout is

astounded. It is clear that, while he is the "evilest shooter in Maycomb," Atticus rarely speaks

about it.

"It is like me that Atticus is a gentleman, fascinated by his modesty. Jem remarks.

“Atticus is also living with cool integrity, while Bob Ewell spits on his forehead and

questions him, “you nigger-loving, you too are proud to fight?” He just cleans his forehead

and answers, 'No, too old,' when he walks away. Atticus aims to be a wonderful dad to his

kids and is a great model for a decent, truthful, kind, and empathic parent committed to

teaching his children the meaning of high morals. He handles his children the same way, and

instead of children, he considers them as his friends. Atticus attempts to give definitive

answers to his kids' most complicated questions, thus winning his son's faith and credibility.

His kids believe in father, and against all else, keep his opinion. Atticus also shows them

several essential concepts, such as illustrations. For one, to show him the nature of real

bravery, he encourages Jem to interpret to Mrs. Dubose. He also advises his children to be

humane, polite, and loving, and damaging an innocent being is inappropriate.

Consequently, Atticus is a static character who remains and acts as same throughout the

novel. Atticus, nevertheless, is probably the most significant literary figure of all time,

equipped with qualities such as integrity, fairness, kindness, bravery, and compassion. He is a

responsible father, a competent lawyer, and a religiously decent citizen who consistently

embraces his values against the county's bigotry and discrimination.
