Identification of Roads to be constructed under Naya Pakistan

Manzil Yen Asan RAP(Phase-II)

On the directions of Worthy Deputy Commissioner Narowal, a joint visit was

conducted by appointed authorities on two schemes of Highway department namely:

1. Sharif chowck to mayadian village chowck (To be taken under RAP Phase-II)
2. Derianwala to Mahais Kalan (Already Constructed under RAP Phase-I)
Following were observed while visiting the site:
1. Both the schemes fulfil the criteria laid down wide letter NO. SOH-
1(C&W)3-10/2019.
2. Scheme 1 which is to be taken under RAP Phase-II offtakes from Sharif
chowck and ends at mayadian village. This has the Length of 5.25 KM
and connects two villages. Existing road is broken at different sections
and its replacement with new road can be considered feasible. Proposed
cost for this scheme is 66.155 Million
3. Scheme 2 which is already constructed under RAP Phase-I Starts from
DerianWala and ends at Mahais Kalan Village. Total length comprises of
5.20 KM. Completion cost of this project is 67.385 Million.
4. Dimensions as laid down on road profile chart was verified on site which
comes out to be matching with proposed/Designed work.
5. Although there was some scouring on side berms at the section of sharp
slopes. Though these were minor scours but instruction/Orders were
issued at the spot to rectify these points. SDO Highway demanded 1
week time for rectification.
6. Although quality of the work executed was satisfactory.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM JOINT COMMITTEE:

Work done by the contractor on scheme 2 is satisfactory as far as quality is

concerned. Scheme 1 May be approved as best fit for the laid criterion.
