Lift Slab

a method of constructing concrete buildings by casting the floor or roof slab on top of the

previous slab and then raising (jacking) the slab up with hydraulic jacks. This method of
construction allows for a large portion of the work to be completed at ground level, negating
the need to form floor work in place. The ability to create monolithic concrete slabs makes
the lift slab construction technique useful in quickly creating structures with repetitive form
work, like parking ramps.
Advantages:

 Extremely affordable
 Fast and Effective
Disadvantages:

 This method cannot be use for multistorey building, only use for 15 – 16 storey
building.
 No large span are constructed in this type of construction.

Span Stress
is the most durable, reliable and strongest concrete that is widely used for the construction
of mega buildings and bridges. It is a type of concrete in which high-strength tendons placed
in tension regions of the cross-section are stressed during the construction of the element to
act against tensile stresses generated due to applied loads.
Advantages:

 Longer span length increases untroubled floor space and parking facilities.
 It has long-term durability

Disadvantage:

 It requires high tensile steel, which is 2.5 to 3.5 times costlier than mild steel.

Slip Forming
is a technique for rapid construction of tall concrete structures, it involves the extrusion of
the concrete in situ rather than casting in short lifts.
Advantage:

 It offers the advantages of speed, ability to produce a monolithic structure, and

economy of operation.
Disadvantage:

 High cost of the initial set-up and the need for specialist expertise and equipment.
