First of all, thanks to allah swt because of the help of allah, writer finished writing the
Critical Book Review. The use of metaphor right in the calculated time.

The purpose in writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment that given by as lecturer
mam Rika in English Literary major.

In arranging this paper, the writer truly get lots challenges and obstructions but with help
of many individuals, those obstructions could pass. Writer also realized there are still many
mistakes in process of writing this paper.

Because of that, the writer says thank you to all individuals who helps in the process of
writing this paper. Hopefully Allah replies all helps and bless you all. The writer realized that
this paper still imperfect in arrangement and the content. Then the writer hopes the criticism

PRELIMINARY

A. Rationalization of the Importance of CBR

Conducting a Critical Book Review on a book by comparing it with other books is very
important to do, it is from this activity that we can find out the advantages and disadvantages of a
book. By criticizing the book we also get competent information from the combination of
information from one book to another. This will also increase the knowledge and ability to
criticize the book.

B. The purpose of writing CBR

The purpose of writing the CBR is to complete the CBR assignment in the Productive
Language Skills course. To increase knowledge and improve the quality of yourself to think
critically and to train on how to make a critical book review. As well as increasing our ability to
criticize the contents of the book. Explain the strengths and weaknesses of the book.

C. Benefits of CBR
1. Review the contents of the two books.
2. Knowing the information in the book, especially on the material concerned, namely
speaking skills.
3. Critical in finding the information in each book
4. Fulfill one of the course assignments.

 From the results of the reviews of the two books above, both the main book and the
comparison book have advantages, but the main book has more positive values. So it can be
concluded that the main book by Dra. Rosdiana Siregar, M.Pd has a better excellence value.

B. Suggestion

To write a book, the writer should pay attention to the material that has been described in the
previous chapter so that for the next chapter the explanatory material is no longer presented so
that the reader will not be bored reading it. To readers who are looking for references to add or
deepen the material of speaking skills, the book entitled Speaking Skills by Dra. Rosdiana
Siregar, M.Pd is suitable to be used as an enhancer of our insights.
