Something I Like

"I'm never gonna run away! I'm not going back on my word! That's my ninja way!"

This is the iconic line of my all-time favorite anime character, Naruto Uzumaki.
Even though he's a fictional character, he has that kind of impact that made me get
attached to him, ultimately leading me to love him as an anime character. Despite
watching many different anime series with good main characters, he's still the first
character that comes to mind when someone mentions the word "anime".

Naruto Uzumaki is the main character from Naruto, a shonen manga and anime
series written by Masashi Kishimoto that aired from 2002 to 2016. In this series, Naruto
aspires to become a Hokage, the highest position in their village called Konoha, or the
Hidden Leaf Village. However, the villagers do not seem to like him since sealed inside
him was a beast that nearly destroyed their village in the past and led to his parents'
death. Despite those negative feedback about him, he worked hard to become the best
version of himself to protect the village and gain the village's acknowledgment. Ultimately,
at the end of the series, he became the hero who saved the town and the whole world
from the most significant threat that the planet has ever received, and the Hokage title he
dreamed of since he was a kid.

The one thing that I love about him is his personality – he is a hardworking guy,
and he never turns back to any responsibility given to him. He's also a fun guy to be with
since he's a very goofy person and very approachable, and he's not afraid to ask any
assistance from his friends. And speaking of, he even befriended some of his enemies
by using his so-called "talk-no-jutsu" during their combats - because he's a kind-hearted
person who is always listening to other people's stories and is ready to understand them.
While I like his personality, mine is the opposite. Maybe that's the reason why I became
interested in his character. Since I am a constantly curious person, I always get to wonder
where did he get this kind of determination despite the hate that was given to him by the
public, and by watching his character development in the series, I get to understand why,
and maybe because it's a new thing to me, having this kind of positive energy as a
character, that made me like him. Sometimes, I envy him for being that kind of person
since no matter how I try to imitate that character, I can’t have this kind of positivity in my
life - I get persuaded easily, I only have the energy to do something in the start and losing
it in the process, and I am empathetic especially when receiving negative feedback.

Naruto is influential, not just in the series but also in real-life, for me at least.
Despite our contrasting personalities, I liked him because of how he progressed as a
character with that kind of attitude. I hope that someday I would have my own "ninja way"
and use it as my primary key to success.
