Remove Final Drives

start by:

a) remove axles

1. Remove bolts (2) that hold the final drive carrier to the wheel assembly.

2. Fasten a hoist and remove the final drive. The weight of the final drive is 60 lb. (27 kg).

Install Final Drives

1. If necessary make a replacement of the O-ring seal in the wheel assembly.

2. Fasten a hoist to the final drive.

3. Put the final drive in position on the machine.

4. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 195 ± 18 lb.ft. (265 ± 24 N·m).

Disassemble Final Drives

start by:

a) remove final drives

1. Remove shafts (1) from the outside surface of the final drive carrier.

2. Remove the six steel washers (2), the six bronze washers (4) and gears (3) from the final drive carrier.

3. Remove the two bearings from each gear.

Assemble Final Drives

1. Install bearings (3) and (5) in gear (4).

2. Hold washers (1), (2), (6) and (7) in position on gear (4).

NOTE: Steel washers (2) and (6) must be assembled next to gear (4).

3. Install gear (4), the bearings and washers in the final drive carrier.

4. Install shaft (8) to hold gear (4) in position.

5. Do Steps 1 through 4 for the other two gears in the final drive carrier.

NOTE: Make sure the flat surface of shaft (8) is toward the outside of the final drive carrier so that the cover
assembly can be installed.
