1 General
Question
What is the cause of alarm A08526 "PROFINET: No cyclic connection" with quick
flashing red BF-LED?

Cause
1. The PROFINET device name is not assigned
2. The PROFINET device name is incorrect
3. The assigned PROFINET device name differs from the PROFINET device
name in the offline project

Solution
1. Assign the PROFINET device name, using TIA-portal
2. Follow the naming conventions:
Additional information on assigning addresses and names for PROFINET
devices can be found in the Help section in the TIA Portal, for example: "Index
-> Device name -> Assign PROFINET device name and address".
3. Assign consistent PROFINET device names

3 1. Open the menu 1
“Properties”
2. Open the menu
"PROFINET interface 2

3. In section "IP

example
192.168.0.17)
4. In section
"PROFINET", check
the PROFINET device
name (in the example 4
cu250s2pn)

NOTE When the "Generate PROFINET device name automatically" option is activated,
the device name is automatically derived from the configured name of the drive.
You cannot directly change this name. To indirectly change the PROFINET
device name, you change the name of the drive involved in General properties:
Siemens AG 2015 All rights reserved

"Device configuration -> Properties -> General -> Name".

If you wish to set the PROFINET device name independently of the drive name,
you must deactivate the "Generate Profinet device name automatically" option.
A "converted name" is generated from the PROFINET device name. This is the
device name that is actually loaded to the device.
The PROFINET device name is converted only when it does not conform to IEC
61158-6-10 rules. Also here, you cannot directly change this name..
